"Why would he have 7 sons if that wasn't the case?" Apollo sneakily mocks and Eros jaw clenches, he lifts his eyes to meet Apollo's, who simply smirks as he sits back in his seat, obviously enjoying the show.

"He had 7 sons because he had hope, Apollo, why else?" Eros shoots at him and Apollo's smirk falls, causing Zeus to chuckle deeply

"Enough you two" he says and returns his attention to Eros and stands.

"Though it is true, I am fairly disappointed, Eros, there's nothing we can do about this situation" he says arranging his toga and Eros nods.

He knew Zeus had high hopes in him, not only Zeus but everyone in Olympos and he had let them down.

He was hiding his powers from them when they were highly needed, his father needed someone to take his place and his uncle needed his lightning to balance with his thunder but he was throwing it all away.

There was a part of him that felt ashamed for doing such a thing but whenever he shut his eyes and heard your soft voice repeating the words he craved to hear every second of the day, those words that made him feel like he was on top of the world, that nothing else mattered, those words that gave him the strength...

"I love you, Eros, please be strong"

It was all he needed to hear.

Eros slowly lifts his eyes to look up at the council, holding back his shame, for there was nothing to be ashamed of.

The woman he loved knew he was the god of lightning, the person that mattered the most to him knew what he was capable of, knew that he had his power and trusted him.

You were alive, every time he shut his eyes he could hear you breathing miles away from him but still breathing and it was all that mattered.

He would take all the shame from those above him for you.

He would do it all over again, all over again if it meant you would stay by his side forever.

Zeus lifts a hand and gestures to the large gold doors "you may leave us to discuss your fate" he says deeply and Eros swallows hard.

"Which is?" he asks and Zeus lowers his gaze, giving Eros a serious and deep look, in his blue eyes Eros could read the disappointment and the dilemma.

"Only gods live on Olympus, Eros, you know this, gods capable of balancing the world beneath us" he starts and at his words Eros' eyes widen in realization.

"Though born from two gods, you have no powers, what makes you who you are is nonexistent which means you are no different from the humans below us" Zeus says deeply and Eros feels his chest tighten.

"Whether you will be sent on earth to live as a mere human or not will be the topic of our discussion" Zeus says and glances at the other gods who nod before glancing over at Eros, disappointment and even disgust in their eyes.

He was nothing to them.

Eros feels a slight lump in his throat as he glances over the faces of the gods before him, the gods he had grown up around, the ones he considered family and who had considered him as their son, the gold in their veins matching his.

They were prepared to send him on earth with humans just because he didn't possess what they needed.

He was nothing to them.

"You may leave" Zeus says turning away from Eros with a frown and Eros struggles to get back on his feet and not able to make eye contact with anyone he gives one last bow and turns, walking out.
