We went to rehearsal the next day, less exhausted than the day before. What an accomplishment. I only had one cup of coffee. Brian had already consumed half of his good-sized Thermos. We were in the theater, waiting for the Oregon group to come. Jeff was stressing about the show. He was in charge of everything, but he had requested our moral support. I wasn't sure why. On Jeff's maybe 1000th circle of pacing around the stage, Rachael came in. "I meant to come earlier, but I slept past my alarm. I was binge-watching Breaking Bad," Rachael said.

"It's okay, Rach," Jeff said.

"I'm sorry for coming late. Are you okay?" She asked Jeff.

"Yeah. Just scared, honestly," he confessed.

"Lo and Joey are on their way. Corey said he's running late and Jaime should be entering," I said from my spot on the floor.

"Why're you laying there? You're going to fall asleep," Rachael said, towering over me for once.

"It's very comfy," I said.

"All the more reason why you should get up," Brian said. I rolled onto my stomach.

"Ugh, fine," I said, getting myself up.

"Good. We'll get started in about sixty seconds," he added.

"Okay. I'm here for supervision if need be," I said.

"'Kay. and I'll call on you for anything," Jeff said.

"I'll be right here," I reminded him.

We ended rehearsal at around five in the afternoon. I was relaxing at home, not really doing much. "Whatcha doing, L?" Meredith asked.

"Nothing," I said.

"Sure," Brian added.

"I know that you're asking about my love life," I said.

"I am indeed. What are you guys texting about?" He asked.

"We're talking about rehearsal tomorrow and maybe doing something this weekend," I said.

"Let us know when you're going and where," Meredith said.

"I will, Mere. Don't worry," I said. So we have rehearsal tomorrow but then we're off 'till Monday. What do you say we do something after rehearsal and figure things out from there? :). I smiled and texted him back. Yeah... but the where is my concern because Holdens have to know where I'm at. He replied in record time. Northerly Island. I looked up. "Northerly after rehearsal tomorrow?"

"Yep. Be back before ten," Brian said.

After rehearsal the next day, I met with Clark. "So, we're going to drive. Everyone wants to enjoy a nice walk home, so I was thinking we could hang there for a while and then head home," he said.

"Sounds good. I'm exhausted," I said.

"It won't be long. Besides, it's about the journey, not the destination," he added, kissing me.

"You have that right," I responded. We got in and started on the drive there.

"Are you ready for a new crazy summer season?" I asked.

"I am. Sort of. I've gotten all the music done, so now I just have to teach it," he said.

"The hardest part I presume?" I checked.

"Yep. But not really for ANI. It's different, because I'll be doing the singing," he said.

"No way!" I exclaimed.

"Yes way! They wanted to try something a little bit different and what better way to test it than with-" he started.

"Your beautiful voice," I said.

"Did you just give me that compliment?" He asked me. I nodded.

"Not like I'm lying," I said.

"I'm flattered," he said.

"I hope you are," I added.

"Well, it's nine. We can spend fifteen minutes in this parking lot and then I'll get you home at 9:45. Better to have an early time so if I'm late then you won't be late," he said.

"That's a smart idea," I said. We got out of the car and sat on the hood, hands clasped together. The sky was dark, but still beautiful despite the light pollution. "This reminds me of the time I wanted to take astronomy, but the class didn't fill up so I didn't."

He laughed, a sound I didn't know I missed. "I thought that was going to be so much more climactic," he said.

"So many of my stories end that way," I said.

"Tell me more," he requested.

""Um I was going to be productive during a free period and then I wasn't," I said. I thought about it some more. "It ended up with me having a slight existential crisis. There was another time when I was going to eat a big lunch, but they didn't have food that I liked so I ate two cookies and nothing else." (A/N That was my lunch the day I wrote this 11/28/2018)

"That's not healthy," Clark said.

"But those are the only stories I have that I can remember," I said. "It's not a way of life, it's a thing I did in school and having a protein shake for lunch."

"It's such a beautiful night," he said, hugging me closer and planting a kiss on the top of my head.

"Indeed," I added, getting into a comfy position.

"Now you're too low for me to kiss you," he said. I smiled up at him from his lap.

"I can sit up."

"Please do," he said. I sat up and he kissed me as if we had all the time in the world. And for that time, we did. The moon was a spotlight showing the world. And for that time, it was just the two of us in our own universe.
