Not like any other Nerd ~ Tadashi x Reader

You were very nervous to be in a house with a bunch of people you were meeting for the first time. Being with Tadashi seemed to make you worry less.

"I am working on a project already, uhh I've been in uni for quite a while, but I really believe in this project helping people. I work in medical science and my Baymax, that's the name, by the way, uh, my baymax is going to help a lot of people, " maybe it was the fact that he seemed so nervous and you couldn't help but smile as he over-explained his project. It was a relief to be talking about science. To be honest you didn't really think much about coming here, just that you'd be able to spend more time with him.

"No worries, I love hearing about science projects, especially if the person is passionate about theirs!" speaking with him was easy. 

"I have an interesting project! I've been working with chemicals and their reactions with each other, Tadashi has been helping me a bit, mostly with moving things around!" Honey Lemon joined in our conversation and you were grateful, forgetting your worries from before. Standing there talking with Tadashi was a bit intimidating, no matter how easy he made it. 

"Reactions with each other?" I egged her to go on, hoping to just sit back and listen to her. She nodded excitedly. 

"Yes, they all have amazing reactions to each other, some stick to each other, others make goo, all wild colours!" Listening to her allowed all the attention to go to her and you became very grateful. And besides, the way she looked at Tadashi. You cast a side glance at him and saw he was smiling while listening to her. They must be very close. Your eyes widened a bit as he seemingly noticed you and caught your eyes. He gave you a big smile. 

"She's amazing isn't she?" Fred joined in our conversation. He was simply a huge science fanatic. You nodded and smiled with them. 

"Oh, uh thank you, I just love the reactions they have, they are all so amazing and so different," you nodded at her, her cheeks going pink. Her eyes kept going to Tadashi show as nodding. 

Gosh we are all so obvious aren't we?

"So, (Y/n) what's your project?" Tadashi turned the attention back to you and you nodded before starting to explain what you have been working on. 

"Ok, so you know how they were able to turn C02 into a renewable energy source a long time ago?" Honey Lemon nodded, knowing the history of different kinds of chemicals. "Ok, so I wanted to use that idea and expand it if you will. My main scientific field is robotics, solar energy is usually the way to go for most, but what if there was a way to make a chemical reaction happen constantly inside the machine that allows energy to move through it? We'd have to fuel it ourselves or go one step further and find a way for the machine to produce it by itself over and over, like a vapour, I know it's pretty much the same as Solar, but it's the project that allowed me to be here, just finding an alternative, create options for people and robots."

"No no, that's creative and pretty amazing," Tadashi looked at you with an interest in your work. You nodded before thanking him. 

"That's really cool, let me know if need any help, I'd be very interested in helping you!" Honey Lemon was so kind.

"Thank you, I might take you up on that offer, I have lot's to learn about chemical reactions and you'd be the best to go to," you told her and she smiled with you. 

"So robotics huh? Can you-"

"Nope, Fred I'm not even going to let you finish that sentence," You glanced up at Tadashi who was waving away Fred, you let out a laugh as Fred shrugged and turned his attention to Gogo. 

"I'll ask her later," you heard him whisper and saw Gogo glance at you, seeing you heard him and gave you a lazy smile and mouthed sorry. You laughed.

"Yes, I'm in first place!" Hiro suddenly chirped and Gogo whipped her head back so fast. 

"Oh not for long little one!"

Looking back at Tadashi and Honey Lemon you smiled.

You could get used to this.
