The past was in (Y/n)'s head, and her future was her hands. However, it seems that it was reversed for Dazai. The future was in his head, and all he could think about was how their bond could change for the better or for the worse. The past of lying and hiding in Mori's shadow was in his hands, and it was something he couldn't let go.

"Hello, it's (Y-. Yeah, it's Marionettist Mentalist," (Y/n) said into a flip phone. "I have information on the White Tiger. Unfortunately, he is apart of the Armed Detective Agency." As she clamped the heels of her boots down the sidewalk in the direction her apartment complex was located, she spoke on her cellphone. The call was made towards Gilly Addy, who was a member of the Risen Rebels and had a position similar to a receptionist.

The shining sun was setting, and the colors of the sky faded into multiple pigments of oranges and yellows. Hardly anyone was out at this time of the evening, but in the next hour, the roads would be packed with vehicles. A soft laugh exhaled from (Y/n)'s perky lips as Gilly mentioned her interest in the leader of the agency. This elderly woman, who had an unbelievable ability, reminded her of a wild and fun spirit that wasn't ready to be put to rest.

"Well, thank you for that. It's been a frustrating day from-." The call didn't end, but the palm-sized cellphone of (Y/n) bounced across the pavement after being dropped. Without warning or even a bit of suspension, (Y/n)'s body was wrapped in and pulled by razor-shaped, black strings, which took a shape similar to that of a spider's web. Out of nowhere, someone with an ability dragged her off into a wet, smelly, and cramped alleyway. Dirt stained and bits of broken torn her clothing as she was tugged across the ground like a large mutt pulling their small owner behind them during a run.

A faint gasp escaped (Y/n)'s lips once she was slammed up against a brick wall of a jewelry shop. The depths of this alleyway ended in a dead-end, and there stood a man with a sickly and pale appearance. In order for (Y/n) not to scream, the black mist coiled around her mouth and squeezed her hands against the side of her thighs. From that moment, her (e/c) eyes of fear stared into the emotionless grey eyes of a young man.

This man has a thin build and very pale skin. As he glared at (Y/n), he covered his face with a hand to his silence his frequent coughing. He had short, ruffled, and black hair that had side bangs, which reached and dyed white at the tips. This dangerous stranger blended in with the shadows of the alleyway. He wore a long, black coat that reached past his knees over pants and dress shoes that also made the same charcoal-shade. There was no question that he was darkness himself, and his ability was also something that could have escaped the pits of hell.

"Haven't you grown," the man mumbled. His husky and soft voice hid the fact that his throat was sore due to his constant coughing. "You don't know who I am, do you?" he asked. (Y/n) felt herself become weak in the mind and in the body. The answer was obvious, and even he could read her wondering eyes. "The leader of the Risen Rebels, and ex-former Port Mafia member, doesn't know who Mori replaced her with? How pathetic."

Dazai hummed as he walked with a pep in his step. After stuffing himself with Momiji manjus, which is a type of cookie shaped like leaves and filled a sweet red bean paste, he decided to head back to the headquarters of the Armed Detective Agency. Of course, Dazai was being accompanied by Doppo and Atsushi. "Will you slow down?!" Doppo yelled. "Not everyone is sugar-high like you!" "I'm so full and bloated," Atsushi whined. "I-I don't think I can walk for much longer."

Before Dazai could make any type of remark, the crackling of a cellphone underneath his foot causing him to go silent. "Huh," he huffed. "Osamu Dazai speaking." The call was dropped and all Dazai heard was a deep and long ring. He then looked down the alleyway before walking into it. "Dazai! Where are you going?" Doppo called out. "It's obvious someone dropped this and went this way," Osamu answered. "I am a great detective after all."
