"Breathe, just breathe," Akiko whispered. "Breathe?! I'm in so much pain!" (Y/n) cried. Osamu and (Y/n) had to say goodbye to the wedding day and honeymoon stay because their baby decided to arrive. Overall, this was a special day and called for many reasons of celebration.

Twenty or so minutes after (Y/n)'s water broke, everyone arrived at the hospital. The staff was shocked seeing such a large crowd rush inside behind a bride and groom. Those who weren't blood-related family were instructed to wait in the waiting room, and normal guests were uncomfortable by the out-of-city strangers. Osamu waited outside of the delivery room. Akiko joined (Y/n) and offered her services to help deliver the child. At first, the doctors informed her that she wasn't needed, but Akiko wasn't going to take no for an answer.

(Y/n)'s contractions began to ache an hour after she was dressed in a gown, hooked to an IV, strapped in a heart monitor. Akiko checked her patient every hour to see how far she was dilated. Currently, she was only a four out of ten. "Dazai? Why aren't you in there with (Y/n)?" Atsushi asked. He passed by the hallway Osamu was pacing in on the way back from the vending machine. "Well," Osamu huffed. "Ah!" (Y/n)'s scream interrupted Dazai from continuing his sentence. A loud crashing sound caused the orphan boy to jolt and drop a packet of candy.

"(Y/n)! Please calm down! Throwing things isn't going to make the baby come out faster!" Akiko told her. "Her ability doesn't mix with her anger," Dazai laughed. As anxious as he was about his child arriving, he put on a smile. Nurses came and go within every hour. As much as Osamu wanted to be at his wife's side and hold her hand as she gave birth to their child, he decided to take the time to speak with Mori.

The two sat alone outside and on a bench. The sun had gone down and the night sky sparkled stars of all sizes. Everyone was still there sitting in the waiting room. Some were sleeping in their seats, others were either reading the same magazine again or watching a show on the mini television hooked up in the corner of the wall.

Mori and Dazai's conversation wasn't like any other a father and son-in-law would have. They did mention their thoughts of the child and the importance of family. Osamu brought up the past and how he felt about the leader to be when they were children. He also talked about his reasons for leaving and why he wanted to commit suicide even before betraying (Y/n)'s trust.

Mori listened and gave his thoughts. He would then steal the topic of conversation and imply his feelings about lying and keeping secrets from (Y/n). Mori also stated bits of facts about (Y/n)'s mother and her wishes for her daughter. The two had a heart-to-heart conversation but didn't forget to include that the agency and mafia would always be at one another's throats. It did matter whose side (Y/n) was on either.

The pain was indescribable. (Y/n) screamed and cried and begged for any type of medication to stop the intense cramps. Her back felt out of place, her gut felt tight to the touch, and she could feel her cervix stretching. No matter how strong a woman was, this pain was too much to bear. However, it would all be worth it in the end.

Nighttime turned to early the next morning. (Y/n) was giving her the final push to deliver her son or daughter. Four nurses were in the room and restraining (Y/n)'s arms and legs back as Akiko took the responsibility for coaching her to give birth and preparing to catch the child when it started to slip.

Torture this felt like, but (Y/n)'s screaming died down when it was overpowered by the yelling of her child. The gender didn't matter at the moment. She had names picked for both and hasn't discussed her choices with Dazai. Of course, he acknowledged her pregnancy like everyone else did. He took care of her and attended to her every command as a good fiancée should.

Not even her wedding experience could compare to the moment she held her child for the first time. Those tears of distress became tears of glee.

"Dazai, you can come in now," Akiko said. Ten minutes after the birth of his son, Osamu was allowed in the delivery room. He saw his wife looking like a beautiful mess. Her hair wasn't styled pretty, her eye make-up was smeared, and her round belly he had gotten used to had deflated. (Y/n) greeted her groom with a smile. She took his cold hands and pressed them to her red and sweaty face. "That was something," she laughed.

It was more than something, but Dazai knew what she actually meant. "It's a boy," (Y/n) told him. Akiko had finished cleaning up the baby and had him swaddled in a striped blanket. "He looks just like you too," she added. After Akiko handed Dazai his child, he saw the resemblance. This baby boy had a full head of brown hair, and that explained the reason behind (Y/n)'s heartburn during her pregnancy.

"What's his name?" Osamu whispered. He sat on the edge of the bed and held the baby snug to him. He did look like a miniature version of Dazai. "Odasaku," (Y/n) replied. When the baby peeked open its eyes, Dazai saw his startled expression in those (y/e/c) orbs. He looked at his wife as she fiddled nervously with the tie on her hospital gown. "Odasaku? Are you naming him after?" "I am. I know how much your friend to you. I've met him. You were looking for me, he said."

(Y/n) and Osamu exchanged secrets about one another after they decided to move in together. She was three months pregnant at the time they found a cozy and perfect apartment to live and raise a child in. Although, (Y/n) chose to keep a specific memory hidden from Dazai. "I should have told you, but I regret not believing him that you wanted to make amends with me. He was a good man," she told him.

Odasaku did find (Y/n). They two did talk, but Osamu wasn't told that by his friend. At first, (Y/n) stood her ground and tried fighting off the stranger so she could be alone. If he was able to track her down, then so could the Port Mafia. Thankfully, he was able to calm her down and explain Dazai's situation and confused emotions to her.

"Odasaku," Osamu whispered. He smiled at his son and rubbed his smooth and pinkish-white cheeks with his thumbs. The baby had fallen back asleep and he handed the child to his mother. Dazai then sat beside (Y/n) on the comfortable bed and rested his head against hers. "I love you," he breathed. "I love you too, Osamu."

One by one, the members of the Armed Detective Agency came in and greeted the new person they were going to share their life with. They were now (Y/n)'s friends as much as they were Osamus. Atsushi and Kyoka peered over the baby boy's sleeping face. "He's got chubby cheeks," Atsushi said. "He's cute," Kyoka added. (Y/n) smiled as the two gleamed amazed.

Those two were much help to her during the pregnancy. Kyoka went shopping with (Y/n) and helped pick out clothes, toys, and even assisted on decorating the nursery. Atsushi often retrieved (Y/n) snacks whenever she felt hungry or the trashcan whenever she felt sick. He did have to wrestle Ranpo over stolen treats a few times.

"Can we still come by and visit Odasaku?" Atsushi asked. (Y/n) smiled and nodded towards the boy. He and Kyoka were staring at her with begging, puppy-dog eyes. "Of course," she said. Osamu was collecting bottles of infant milk Akiko had prepared for the newborn. He, (Y/n), and the baby were preparing to the leave the hospital and return to their shared home, which was located in the suburbs of Yokohama. "You're not just leaving the Agency without a goodbye, right?" Atsushi then asked.

There was a pause in Dazai's movement. Even (Y/n) was curious on what he was going to say, because she didn't know what his decision was when involving the agency. "Oh, I am," Osamu said bluntly. "And I'll return whenever they need me. But for right now, it's a silent goodbye," he said as he and (Y/n) exchanged smiles.
