James stood grinning, enjoying everyone's company and meeting new friends. He met Matthew Lewis, and they chatted and joked for awhile as we formed a huge talking group. When the party officially started, the band was set up and dinner was going to start soon.
I made my way next to the band on stage with a microphone set on a long stand. Heads turned as I tried to adjust the super tall pole to my height. This caused some giggles as I'm not the tallest in the pack.
"Hey everybody!" I finally chuckle into the microphone. I earned some whoops and 'hellos' from the 200+ crowd.
"So, before I even announce what we're gonna be doing tonight, I wanted to tell you all a few things. I am so proud of every one of you can what work you've been doing for this movie. When I wrote this, I was just some girl in college who wanted to write. I never would've imagined it would turn into a beautiful film with you gorgeous souls." I start, smiling. The crowd smiles, a couple of hands on their hearts.
"You all are the best people I've ever met. And if you're a guest with one of the cast or crew, god bless your soul." I huff out cheekily, making the crowd giggle.
"Anyways...I love you guys and here's what we're gonna do tonight. Dinner will be coming out, sit at whichever table you feel like. These guys are going to play some bangers, so dance your hearts out. Oh, there's an open bar in the back." I explain. The bar thing earned me some whoops and yells from the guys.
"Yeah, I thought Matthew and Steve might like that one." I laugh as Matthew Lewis and Steve Peacocke were cheering.
"So...Love you guys, and party hard." I end my little speech grinning. The whole crow applauses and cheers. I step down to James, Emilia, and Jenna Coleman. They instantly gave me a huge hug from the emotional speech. An upbeat pop song starts to play, the crowd departing to tables.
I make my way with James, Emilia, and Katrina to a rectangular black table with 8 chairs. James sits on the far right of one side, so I sit to his left. Emilia sits with her guest next to me. Katrina and her guest sit next to each other on the other side. Two empty seats remain as we all start to make conversation. Then, a blue-eyed man with a stubble approaches with a blonde woman.
"Mind if we take these seats?" He looks into my eyes softly, but a tinge of envy making them light up with green.
"Not at all." I smile, sipping some ice water. I look up around me, some of the cast and crew sitting at the tables on the balcony. Sam sits across from me, and Rachel across from Sam. The band starts playing light acoustic music in the background, chatter filling the room.
"So James...what do you do?" Sam puffs his chest, placing his arm behind Rachel on the chair.
"I'm a music producer." He smiles at Sam, but Sam doesn't break his stolid expression.
"Anyone we would know?" He raises his eyebrows.
"Most popularly, Ed Sheeran and a few select Panic! At The Disco songs. Much to Y/N's liking." He chuckles at the end, because those are some of my favorite artists. Sam purses his lips into a polite smile, then turns to talk to Katrina with Rachel.
"I don't think your ex likes me very much." He whispers huskily in my ear, making the hair stand on my neck.
"I think he's just jealous of your amazingness." I whisper in his ear, kissing his cheek softly after. He grins in response, his cheeks turning pink. Emilia turns to me, and we all chat about our Wales expedition next week.
"It's going to be a huge decline of weather." Emilia laughs, "From 90° daily to 50° at best."
"Hey, as a New Yorker, I think I'm well prepared." I jokingly motion towards myself flamboyantly.
"Really? In college you insisted on a flat with a fireplace." Sam smiles slightly, cocking his eyebrow.
"True. Well, maybe I'm not as prepared as I thought." I hold in a hearty laugh.
"I didn't know you two went to college together." Emilia smiles, looking at the both of us.
"Yeah, yeah. Fun times." I awkwardly sip some water.
"That's really cool. Small world after all, huh?" James puts his left arm behind me on my chair, grinning. I smile at him with sparkling eyes.
Dinner was soon placed in front of us, and frankly it tasted like heaven itself. The meal was full of jokes, hilarious stories, and lots of smiles. The whole time, James was playing with the ends of my hair, grinning widely.
When the band started to set up and dessert was done, the dance floor seemed too empty for a party.
I guess James noticed me staring at the empty dance floor, because he grabbed my hand and whispered in my ear.
"Do you want to dance?" His low voice causes a shiver down my spine. He pulls away, making a grin creep on my lips.
"I'd love to." I grab his hand, leading him to the dance floor. I see heads turn, but I drag James to the dance floor, making him chuckle.
"Oh, c'mon! Who doesn't love this song?" The band starts to play I Wanna Dance With Somebody. (An absolute classic). I playfully shout to the tables, making everyone laugh.
Emilia grabs her date, dragging him to the dance floor with a smile. Katrina joins in, and then I see Sam ask Rachel to dance. I smile when she agrees, and then most of the cast was on the floor with their dates.
James wraps his arm around my waist, his eyes golden in the lights. I grin, putting my arms around his neck. We both sing along embarrassingly and carelessly, loving every second of it.
I look around at the people dancing. My boyfriend, my best friends, my cast and crew. I then realize how lucky I am, and how tonight will be the best night ever.
