Y/N's POV:

The drive to the airport was utterly silent. No one dared to say a word. Sam didn't want to talk about the feud, but he didn't have to. I could hear it from outside.

Rachel had clearly cheated on him. I can't even imagine the heart break he must be feeling right now. He should be screaming, crying, sobbing. But he's sitting there looking out the window, emotionless.

I look in the rear view mirror at him, trying to sense anything that he's feeling.

When he's angry, he clenches his jaw.

When he's nervous, he rubs the back of his neck.

When he's happy, his eyes sparkle and the corners tighten up.

When he's sad, he rubs his mouth and chin, and won't make eye contact.

Right now? He's stolid with no trace of anger or sadness.

The only thing I notice is the lack of his wedding ring on his left hand.

After a long drive, James parked the car in front of the airport. We all hopped out of the car, and I popped the trunk for us to get our bags. Sam swung his duffel bag over his shoulder and rolled his suitcase. James rolled one of my suitcases, and I held my carry on backpack and other suitcase.

What? I like clothes and shoes, okay?

James eyes linger on me as we enter the large airport. I pull out my ticket from my carry on, trying to track the gate number. We all had to keep our sunglasses on as to not attract any fans or paparazzi. Although I adore my fans, I don't think Sam could handle smiling right now.

"Gate number B15." I say to the boys, as James slips his right hand in my empty left one. Sam walks next to me, avoiding his gaze on me. I bite my lip, feeling guilty for showing affection to James in front of him.

I shake it off as people whip pass us, flying to get to their gates.

"The whole plane is just going to be full of the cast and crew." James smiles as we get closer to the gate.

"I know, we had to buy tickets in the largest plane. About 500 seats." I laugh.

"Well, I'm sure going to miss our sunrise walks." James says, loud enough for Sam to hear. He doesn't say anything. He doesn't clear his throat uncomfortably. He just looks at the ground.

"Me too." I whisper, looking at the ground as well.

We approach security, but this means we have to leave James behind. Sam walks a few feet away from us to give us some privacy. He uses this time to call someone on the phone, probably his mum.

"Well, this is goodbye for three months." James pouts as I turn to him, entwining both his hands with mine. I smile sadly, looking into his eyes.

Something is off about them.

"I know, but I'll have you visit soon, yeah?" I tilt my head, taking off my sunglasses.

"Of course, babe." He leans in for a kiss, so I stand on my tip toes. I wrap my arms around his neck, holding him close.

But my body doesn't want to hold him anymore. I feel myself involuntarily pulling away quickly. He looks at me awkwardly. Something isn't right.

"Bye James. I'll see you soon." I give him a soft kiss and smile, longing for a tinge of love or electricity to flow through my body.

But nothing.

"Bye, beautiful. Do your wonderful directing magic." He hugs me one last time. I hear some commotion a few feet away from me, and I see a few young girls giggling looking at us. I recognize their points and smiles as fans, so I give them a polite smile and wave, before looking at James one more time.
