Dae snuggled up next to Taehyung on the lumpy mattress while he poured both of them a glass of champagne.

“This reminds me so much of university,” she whispered in the growing darkness.

They talked and reminisced until the sky was lit by the lights of the bustling city.

Talk turned to their friends again and by this time Taehyung was much more talkative.

She finally felt well caught up on JK, Hoseok and YoonGi. NamJoon was a topic they quickly cleared, Tae declaring him too aloof to know much about.

After a while a comfortable silence grew and the pair was just content to watch the nightscape come to life.

On a crazy impulse, Dae turned and said, “Tae, why did we never hook up?”

Taehyung gave her a wicked look and said, “Is that an invitation?”

Dae rolled her eyes and said, “I am not joking.  That is a legitimate question!”

At that Tae took her by surprise, moving until he had her body tucked under his.

He slowly bent his head to take her mouth.  Dae was shocked.  His kiss was firm and filled with heat immediately.  Dae pushed at his shoulder and he stopped, his gaze hooded and dark as he looked down at her.

It took her a few moments to compose herself, then she sat up away from Tae.

“What…are you crazy?? Stop looking at me like that!” she stumbled.

“Like what?” Tae asked.

“Like that! Trying to be all sexy!  I know that look!! At the office they call it the “panty dropper!” she muttered.

Tae blushed, but then he smiled a slow smile, “They do?” he asked.

She punched him in the arm and said “You know damn well they do!”

“Did it work?” he asked, those eyes, that face, that mouth all working in concert.  Most targets of that assault would be a puddle.

Dae found herself struggling with how to answer without hurting his feelings.

“Tae…..it was….I…..you are….but….” she struggled.

Tae laughed and took her hands. “It was nice,” he said.  She nodded

“But I am not him.” Tae finished.  Dae saw he was not hurt, that this was a truth he already knew.

“That is why we never hooked up, DaeDear, I was not him.  I never stood a chance.  None of us did.” Tae said, watching her face closely.

“Tae, I kissed Jimin,” she confessed.

“I know,” he said, causing her cheeks to flush.  “He gets drunk and talks about it all the time.  I am tired of hearing about it.”
