Creatures of Habit.

To put it simply, humans are creatures of habit regardless of what sort of lives they live. After a while, things begin to go as a routine, with waking up, eating, going to work, and then going to bed. It's one of the things that we no longer need to think about doing, much like breathing, speaking, moving, and more. For example, take your dominant hand. You don't need need to think about how to write with that hand since you are used to writing that way. However, if you were to try using your less dominant hand, it would prove to be more challenging even though you know how to write. Typically speaking, after we notice our lives become a routine there is always a part of us that wants more. Something new, something entertaining, just simply anything to pass the time that isn't what you expected.

However, another critical thing to note is that whenever something new seems to occur, there is always an underlying feeling of fear or caution. Many people fear the unknown, so our first instincts would be to either run from new things or fight them. But how we react is the most important thing to know about before going into the unknown. In some times this can cause us to react badly, while in others it may cause us to be too trusting. It's easy to overestimate the capabilities and skills of someone we don't know, but it's easier to underestimate them when we believe we're better.

Regardless of who you may be, when encountering something new, we all have a blindspot.

CHAPTER 2. CHANGE OF PACE

> [Y/N]'s POV

As nice as it was to finally see someone new around Sky City, something just didn't feel right about them. Being here for most of my life, I knew everyone around the place. I knew who they were, what they were like, what sort of things they did, practically everything. Including the 'secret clubs' they made like the Crafters Club. As perfect as the founder wanted everything to be, the residents of the city had their own lives as well. Regardless on whether or not she made laws constricting that freedom to create.

Part of me wanted to join that club, but deep down I knew that I was too recognizable by guards to be part of something like that.

Continuing to hold the flower underneath the folds of my apron, I went back on track to my goal. Heading home, putting the flower in the flower pot, and then going about my day. As usual. Well, maybe not entirely as usual, but what were the chances I was going to see new people again today? With a slightly rushed pace, I arrived back home and shut the door behind me with a thunk, sinking against it with a sigh of relief.

" Finally... all of this because of a tiny flower..." I muttered, not realizing how fast my heart raced, as well as the small beads of sweats that seemed to appear on my head. I could even hear the beating of it through my ears, almost seeming to overwhelm it with noise. Admittedly, this was probably an overreaction on my part, but anyone who lived here would know about the consequences of going against the rules. It didn't matter if it was the smallest thing like taking a flower or kicking some dirt off the edge, if you went against the rules you would be punished. If I went against the rules, I would lose my job and probably never be allowed to get another one. There were no strikes, if you messed up once you were done. End of story.

My eyes shifted over to the flowerpot on the window ledge, causing me to feel a pit in my stomach. This was wrong, getting arrested over a flower was wrong. But I couldn't just go back, I was only allowed in the garden once a day. Plus I was in too deep with this tiny flower. Standing up from the door, I walked over to the window sill, hovering the flower over the flower pot. I hesitated, before planting it in the small container, bracing for something.

Nothing happened.

I waited a few more seconds.

Still nothing.
