Watching what you say.

Typically speaking, it's good advice in any sort of situation. Watching what you say at a birthday party, in a job, in a chatroom, in a normal conversation, etc. You could even consider it one of the best pieces of advice you could be given. Words have a powerful effect on people, whether we admit that or not. It is often specific words that can be very iffy to say, but the words themselves aren't the only thing that can change the mood of the conversation entirely.

The tone of voice is also something you should be careful of. The wrong words paired with the wrong tone of voice can change the tune of a lot of conversations rather quickly and often lead to many problems. On the other hand, the right words paired with the right tone of voice can have a powerful effect on people. This can lead to things such as inspiration, determination, or general feelings of people looking up to you.

Regardless it is very important to watch what you're saying at all times. Sometimes you won't be able to take words back and will need to live with the consequences of the things you had said.

Beware the Consequences.

CHAPTER 12. STRANGE PROGRAMS

> [ Y/N ]'s POV

While waiting for Jesse to see what that strange person was doing, I took some time to think about a few things. Sometimes things get less scary the more you think about what the unknown is, which is exactly what I wanted to figure out. One of the things that stuck out to me was that the zombies with the Redstone things were all moving in sync, almost like they were connected in some way. Whatever was put on their heads made them stronger, faster, and either more intelligent or more controlled. Thank goodness for the power of logic.

Unfortunately, my thoughts were interrupted by a startled Jesse yelp. At least I hope it was startled. Getting off the clay, I rushed over to the perplexed individual along with the others. " Jesse, you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost or something."

" Sounded like he might have startled you. Was he still unfriendly? " Petra asked in a rather worried tone.

" We heard quite the... well not even a scream, more of a yelp. " Ivor spoke, correcting himself briefly.

In a slightly hasty, still confused tone Jesse responded " That guy I was just talking to- trying to talk to? He wasn't human."

Lukas blinked in surprise. " What?"

" Yeah. He was like these zombies we've been seeing. Red eyes. Weird glowy head thing. " Jesse described.

Crossing her arms, Petra's expression seemed to falter. " I don't like the sound of that..."

Before any of us could make any comments, there was a small dust cloud followed by a figure hastily sliding against the sand before rushing up into one of the buildings. Everything so far at least moved slower, a quick movement like that... something or someone was up.

Jesse seemed to also take notice of this and turned back to the group. " Someone just ran into that house. "

" Witness. " I stated simply, raising my hand a bit before putting it back down.

" Come on, whoever they are...maybe they've got some answers. " Jesse suggested before we all ran towards the house quickly. With how fast that person went just going to the house, it was probably best to get there as fast as possible before they leave. Luckily the quick crunching of sand seemed to blend in with the sound of moving sand. Who knew?

When we arrived at the entrance of the house, Jesse was the first to investigate further. I could hear the faint sounds of a woman's voice, though I couldn't entirely make out too many of the words. from the sound of it they seemed happy. Which I wasn't really expecting out in this place. To each their own I guess. From the lack of fighting sounds, we figured it was clear to head into the place.
