it was now Thursday, the day before the endgame.
or the day before someone's unpredictable doom.
she just wasn't sure whose doom it was going to be.
the hours at school continued to drift by, and all Rhi knew was the occasional bell ringing after forty five minutes, lunchtime, and then the final bell of the day that signaled that Rhi's last day of being a normal kid was coming to a close. she was sure her friends felt the same way, since time was basically pushing them towards their Friday night plan.
but then Rhi started to overthink things; would Malice and Alaric even try come to them? would someone get hurt, and then the plan backfires? or would the plan just fall apart completely, and no one succeeds?
it sure was going to be a hell of a night tomorrow if the plan didn't work properly, Rhi knew that for sure.
but she also didn't want to jinx their opportunities of actually winning.
the sun started to go down some hours later, spreading its orange-gold light all over Moondale. the Rockies appeared to be on fire for several minutes, until the light only touched the snowy peaks and then disappeared altogether. when the moon rose and stars began to appear, that's when Jenny got home wielding fast food; tonight's lucky prize was Subway, although sub sandwiches weren't really considered fast food.
"i've brought home a couple meat lovers sandwiches with cookies!" Jenny called up the stairs, and that instantly brought Rhi down in a heartbeat.
she gorged into her own sandwich before her mom could even sit down, leaving a few chunks of bread and lettuce behind. she also at half of her cookie, but that was it. wolves weren't omnivorous creatures.
"are you sure you don't want to eat the other half of your cookie?" Jenny asked, practically staring down Rhi's unfinished dessert.
she shrugged. "yeah, i'm sure. you can half the rest of it." she crumpled up the papers and threw them out, thanking her mom for the meal as she left the kitchen and hurried back upstairs.
----------------whether or not you were truly ready for something to happen, you always questioned its downfall at the end.
anxiety would course through you, adrenaline and anticipation stirring deep within you as you awaited that moment.
Right now Rhi was anxiously pacing her room, unsure whether she really wanted to go through with this plan. she didn't know if she was really ready anymore.
yes, it was Friday night and the stakes were getting higher and higher as each minute passed, and Rhi couldn't believe the night was finally here. things were about to get real.
Jenny had been assigned another night shift; working from 4 pm to 1 am; and Rhi couldn't have wished for better odds to work in her favor.
right now it was 5, but Rhi and her group still had plenty of time before they had to go out into the forest and begin their plan. they had also made a few changes to the plan; instead of legit deer blood, they would practically bathe themselves in the meat that they each had saved for themselves. the plan got weirder and weirder the more Rhi thought about it, but she didn't care anymore; so long as Malice and Alaric were lured away and killed, then they could worry about acting like lunatics.
