Back outside, the families were waiting for the news when they heard footsteps thudding towards them, all heads turned and they were met with a very sweaty, very red and doggy-panting blonde holding two large bags, who ran straight into the delivery room.

"Sir, you can't--"

"KEVIN!"

Scott cried, Kevin looked up and saw Scott holding the two bags. Relief was the only thing Kevin could feel as he ran over to retrieve the bags and place them at the side of the bed before running back to Avi. Scott closed the door and walked over to his family and dropping down in between his mother and Mitch.

"What took so long?"

"traffic... run-in with the cops... tried to run me off the road--"

Mitch didn't like that.

"WHAT?!"

"i ran them off the road into a ditch... hehe..."

Mitch was already dialling for the chief of NYPD. Scott took notice of this.

"mitchie--"

The line had already gone through as Mitch sat back to take the most bad-ass call in history.

"Is this the chief of the NYPD Police Force?... Yes, this is Mitch Grassi--... oh you already know me? ... Aww, thanks I'll tell 'em but I have a bone to pick with you, mister... Tell that to whoever tried to run my fiancée off the road on his way to the hospital to deliver the hospital bags to our friends before he had a kid--... YES, HE! PROBLEM?! Good, there shouldn't be... I don't care--... He ran them off the road and into a shallow ditch, at least I hope it was shallow..."

Mitch turned to Scott in hopes he was right, Scott nodded.

"they tried to run me off the cliff i was driving on... took a shortcut..."

"You hear that?! Tried to run him off a cliff! Tell me how you'd explain the death of a Three-time Grammy Award-Winning, Billboard-topping artist when they find out it was because he was ran off the road when trying to get to the hospital before his friend gave birth, huh?!... I don't want a petty apology! Just expect a law-suit heading your way... Chief. "

"mitchie--"

Mitch ended the call, flipping his hair to tame it and sat back in his chair, trying to diffuse the overwhelming sass he felt.

"Mitchie, don't sue--"

"Why not?"

"It's not worth it..."

"You, my dearest, are worth suing for."

He kissed his fiancée... though they were interrupted by the sounds of a baby crying. They all stared at the door in anticipation, waiting... Around 15 minutes had passed and the crying had stopped, the doctors and nurses left the room and behind them all was Kevin. They all stood up. He was glowing and grinning like a Cheshire Cat.

"Well?!"

Though his mother was impatient... he took his time to calm his adrenaline rush before...

"y'all can come in, but keep quiet, avi is asleep."

They all walked into the room, behind Kevin, Avi was asleep with a breathing mask over his face and an IV fluid in his arm, the sleeve of his neutral green dressing gown rolled up on his left arm for the IV to enter his body. Kevin led them to the small plastic carrier in the corner where a caramel-skinned, black-haired baby was swaddled in a teal blanket and wearing a white hat and although they couldn't see it, white baby mittens too, sucking on a plain old dummy that came with the steriliser. They all cooed as they made a circle around it... the carrier crib thing I mean... not the baby... cause that's rude.
