Soon enough we were out of there, Milo quickly suggested " Let's head to my Inn, we can regroup there. " there didn't need to be a response, as we all collectively agreed. I kept my hold on [Y/N] on our way there, somewhat glad that they were alright enough to support themselves a little, even though we needed to move fast and quickly.
It was a short while before we managed to get to the inn, it was a good thing that we had someone who knew how to navigate the large city. Then again I supposed it was only reasonable considering how there didn't seem to be much else to go beyond Sky City. We quickly headed inside, and Milo let go of [Y/N] and left me to support them. " Take them to one of the rooms in the inn, I need to let a special group know of the situation and get ready. "
I raised an eyebrow at the mention of a 'special group' and looked towards Petra who answered with an " It's a Build Club. " before going to follow Milo. Ivor seemed to be at one of the tables, from the looks of it seeming to organize something in his inventory. Adjusting my hold on [Y/N], I took them over to one of the rooms of the inn.
The room itself wasn't much, it was pretty much just a bed, a single chest, and a small window. It was a pretty decent size, though that might be because there wasn't much in the room to fill the space in the first place. I've been to a lot of places, and it was uncommon for rooms to not have some sort of personality to them. Like a flower or some carpet. I guess it was understandable given the limited resources. It never ceased to surprise me how everything was different when resources are limited.
Setting down [Y/N] on a bed, I asked " Hey, are you doing okay? Looks like that punch did a number on you. " I pointed out in a concerned tone. They were the one that took the hit for me, and I was grateful for it. But I also felt guilty considering they had already been thrown against a wall, and still took the hit.
They looked at me with a deadpanned expression. " Yes, Lukas, being punched in the gut left me with a feeling of peace and tranquility. " They spoke sarcastically, before breaking out into a small cough. " Ugh... If I knew it would feel this bad to help you I would have just stayed on the ground... " for a moment they paused before adding " ... no, I wouldn't. I'd still help you. Even though everything hurts now. "
A small smile formed on my face. " Thank you anyways. I don't think I could have taken another hit from Aiden. I owe you one... I'm sorry you got hurt like this. It probably wasn't easy to hold them back. "
" You shouldn't apologize, " [Y/N ] started, and sat up, wincing from the pain of the previous events. " I've never done anything like that before, plus I said I'd help so I guess I had it coming. " they looked over at me with a weak smile, putting a hand on my shoulder. " I don't regret helping you, Lukas. Sure, I feel terrible now, but I'd feel worse if I let it happen.
For a moment I felt my heart skip a beat seeing them. Even though they were hurt, they were still doing their best to be strong for me. It gave me a small sense of comfort after a stressful situation. Not to mention how just sitting next to them like this felt.. nice. Just being around them made me feel better, but also gave me another reason to stop Aiden. I wanted to protect them as they protected me.
I was at a loss for words momentarily but soon smiled back softly. " Thanks. I... I needed to hear that."
Not long after Ivor quickly rushed in, holding a magenta coloured potion in his hand, and a red potion in the other. " Take this, you'll regenerate faster and then be able to head out. Things are going to get messy out there! " He mentioned, handing the potion of regeneration to [Y/N], and the potion of healing to me.
" Wait did you bring potions along before we got here? " I questioned.
" Of course I did! I'm not an idiot, all adventures have challenges that require you to be better than yourself! " Ivor exclaims rather bluntly, before adding a quick " Head outside when you're done, get ready for a fight " and rushed out. That was unnecessarily rude, but I got the message.
