Gear trotted down the hallway. He'd never seen that blue Repliwolf before. He wish he got to actually speak with him. It'd be nice to see if there was a softie underneath that cold prickly exterior. But Gear was never brave enough to do that before. Why would he be now?

He felt his paw touch another repliwolf and looked up to see Slasher, his older "brother". Scar was more of a prototype, his incomplete, basically split personality made him very unpredictable. No one could do tests with him. It was even worse if you accidentally ran into him.

"Gear!" Slasher barked in an angry tone.

"Yeah, Slasher?" Gear asked in an innocent tone.

"You caused me to knock over my canvas!" Slasher growled.

Gear looked down on the floor, and immediately felt bad. Paint was spilt all over it, red and turquoise. He looked at the canvas and felt even worse. On it, was a premature sketch of both him and Slasher.

"Sorry..." Gear whimpered, looking down.

"Sorry?! Sorry doesn't cut it you little...!" Slasher yelled.

"What's going on here?" Circuit's voice broke in.

"Gear ran into me and knocked over my canvas!" Slasher yelled. "Look at all the paint on the ground!"

"Hey! Back off," a familiar voice snarled.

Gear's eyes shifted to the doorway. He was shocked. It was the blue repliwolf!

"Winder! What do you want?!" Slasher growled.

Gear turned to his brother. His usual dominant expression was replaced with fear and he began to slowly back away.

"I want you back off and leave Gear alone." Winder replied coldly.

"And if I don't?" Slasher hissed.

Gear caught wisps of light coming out of Winder's jaws. Was...Was Winder going to hurt Slasher?

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Slasher backed down. "Fine Winder, Gear's yours to handle."

Gear let a sigh of relief as Slasher begrudgingly exited the room.

"Thank you," he murmured.

"It was nothing really." Winder replied.

"Slasher said your name was Winder?" Gear asked.

Winder nodded and began to back away towards the doorway again. Gear ran forward and grabbed his tail.

"Ow! Hey, let go!" Winder growled. Gear saw his eyes narrow and jumped back. He did not want to get hurt because he wasn't cautious.

"Winder, why would you care whether or not I was in trouble?" Gear asked. He was actually genuinely curious.

For a moment, all Winder did was frown and Gear wondered if he would get an answer.

"I guess it was because you helped me." Winder finally said. "So I returned the favour."

Gear felt the fear within him begin to lift. "So does that mean...?"

"No! No definitely not!" Winder snapped, running out of the room.

Gear lifted a paw, as if he hope to follow Winder. "Don't." Circuit growled, putting one of his own paws on Gear's back. "You have a mess to clean up."

Gear sighed, grabbed a towel and began to wash the paint off the floor, wondering on how to help Winder become his and Circuit's friend.
