Dagger walked down the hallway to the holding cells. He normally never headed down this way, but this was important. He had to speak with Slasher before it was too late.
"Two rows down, third on the right." Dagger said to himself, remembering what the scientists told him when he asked. Sure enough, there was Slasher, who was growling, and ramming his head into the titanium bars.
Dagger could see why Slasher was so frustrated.
Unlike the other holding cells, this one had a ton of hardware only the scientists could use to open the doors. Dagger wouldn't be able to open it this time.
"What do you want?" Slasher hissed between the bars.
"Just wanted to stop by and say hi. You knew that." Dagger replied in a sly voice.
"Great, let me guess, another plan to free me, that by the way, won't work this time?" Slasher snarled. He clawed at the bars again.
Dagger stepped forward, grabbing Slasher's paw. "Stop that, if you keep doing that, you'll rip off your claws, and then, where will you be?"
"Better if then what they plan to do me." Slasher responded coldly.
Dagger tilted his head in curiosity. "What do you mean?"
Slasher yanked his paw free and snarled. "I...I bit a scientist today. I bit his stomach."
Dagger felt horrified. It would've never crossed his mind to bite a scientist. Slasher was such an idiot. Of course that'd get him in holding cell!
"And now what?" Dagger pressed. "You're staying in there forever? That'll really mess up the plan."
"No! In two days, they're going to attempt to fix my coding! For the fiftieth time!" Slasher roared, his voice shaking the bars.
"Oh my word, SHUT UP!" Dagger yelled. If Slasher wanted to be in more trouble, this was the way. The scientists hated it when a repliwolf howled at the top of his lungs.
"What am I going to do?" Slasher asked. "I'm probably not going to live through the process. Last time I only survived because I was hooked up to hard drive."
Dagger was shocked to hear genuine fear in Slasher's voice. His friend was hardly afraid. This operation must be scaring him badly. Dagger had to save Slasher. Save him from the operation, the scientists, the holding cells, the lab, even the other repliwolves. And this was his chance. He knew what he had to do.
"Slasher listen to me." Dagger growled silently. Slasher leaned in between the bars and perked his ears. "What? Is it time?"
"Yes." Dagger replied. "It's time to start our uprising. And this time, no excuses, no turning back. I want to know whether or not you're in."
Slasher looked down at his paws. After a moment, he looked back up and nodded. "I am. But we can't hurt Gear. Not him. He's part of me, even if he's a screw up."
Dagger waved a paw dismissively. "Alright! Alright! But I call dibs on Winder!"
Dagger wasn't going to let anyone, not Slasher, not Nightmare get Winder. That blue repliwolf had caused enough trouble for him and his friends. It was time for Winder to pay.
Slasher shrugged carelessly, then turned to stare at the spot where he'd claw the bars. "It appears my claws caused severe damage."
"What's that got to do with anything?" Dagger asked.
"Maybe, if we work together..." Slasher broke off as he clawed the spot. The metal screeched.
Now Dagger got it. Tomorrow Slasher would be free. Together, he, Dagger and Nightmare would launch the attack. And no one would get in their way.
Together, Dagger and Slasher began working at the bars. Slasher wouldn't need to worry. Dagger didn't need to feel concerned. They'd get him free, and then everything would be alright.
