In the Frozen [Cal Kestis x Reader] (Complete)

He drags the cloth along the steel of his mighty weapon.
Ever since the Mantis crew decided to go back to Ilum Cal has been tinkering to improve his lightsaber. He has a feeling that he is preparing for something bigger, bigger than getting the Holocron back.
His mind keeps wandering off to Y/n. Her aura is still on Ilum, like nothing has changed.

Suddenly a knock is heard on his door. "Yes?" The door opens and Cere enters. "Hello, Cal."
"Cere." The older woman walks over to the red head. "You're tense."
"There's a good reason to be." Cere smiles. "I know. She means a lot to you, doesn't she." Cal looks up at her with flushed cheeks. "W-what do you mean?"
"Oh come on. You think I didn't notice how you constantly think of her or how you go into her room all the time."

Cal sighs in defeat. "You got me. Unfortunately, the Jedi Code forbids these kinds of things." Cere puts a hand on the shoulder of the disappointed man. "No one can tell you what to do. Cal, the Jedi Order is gone. If you think being with Y/n is what you want then go for it. Let the force guide you."
Cal sighs again. "You're right."

A smile hushes over Cere's lips. "Come, we're about to land."
Both Jedi walk to the cockpit where Merrin and Greece are already preparing for landing. "We'll get your girlfriend back", Merrin says with confidence. "S-she's not my girlfriend!"

As the Mantis finally lands Cal immediately puts on his coat and grabs his lightsaber as well as BD-1. "Cal, We're coming with you." Cere puts a hand on the man's shoulder as Merrin just smiles at him. "Thanks, I owe you two a lot."
BD-1 beeps happily as he hops onto Cal's back.
"Time to save Y/n. Let's do this."

The three run into the white landscape of Ilum.
A snow storm lays upon the area but at this point it's not a surprise anymore.
They travel a few miles towards the base and through the rough cold of the ice planet.

Of course Greeze had to make sure that they remain unseen otherwise the situation would only be more complicated.

With every step they take the towers of the base become more and more visible. "There it is! She's here, I can feel it", Cal says with a bright smile on his face.
"I'll take out the guards, you go inside", Merrin says. "You sure you can handle this", Cere asks.
"I'm not completely helpless, you know that", Merrin scoffs as Cal just shrugs.

Then they continue to sneak towards the base while Merrin starts to take out the guards outside.
Cal and Cere head for the entrance and kill off any stormtrooper they meet on the way.
"Cal, where is she?" Cal reaches out for Y/n's aura. "It's weak but I can still sense it. She's moving."
Then the male runs off into a hallway while Cere follows after with a bad feeling.

Cal keeps chasing after Y/n's fading aura almost recklessly.
He feels her weak heart, her weak state of mind and her weak connection to the light side of the force. "Cere we have to hurry! I'm loosing her!"
Suddenly a door to their current location opens with more stormtroopers. They aim their blasters at the two Jedi with high confidence. "Drop your weapons, Jedi scum!"
Cere and Cal only look at each other. "Go get Y/n, I'll handle this."

The male nods and runs off as Cere starts attacking the white soldiers with her lightsaber.

Cal runs through the grey halls. They all look the same and it makes him furious.
"I'm coming Y/n. Just hold on a little longer!"
