In the Frozen [Cal Kestis x Reader] (Complete)

The sun is slowly rising and there is still no sign of the girl.
The snow storm has also stopped.

"Any sign of her", Cal asks as Cere checks the scanners once again. "Nothing", She says with sadness in her voice.
The male Jedi can't take it any longer. He storms off and grabs a coat.
"Where do you think you're going", Greez sneers. "I'm going down there."
"Cal, it's too dangerous."
"I don't care", Cal suddenly yells followed by dead silence.

"I don't care if she's already dead. I want to find her and bring her home!"
Cere sighs. "I'm coming with you", She says while Greez only shakes his head.
"Don't get killed out there", The small man only says before the two Jedi head off into the snow of Ilum.

"It was around here", Cal says as he tries to look for clues but it is harder than he thought.
The snow storm as destroyed every clue he could have used to find Y/n.
"Cal." The man looks up at the woman standing next to him.
"I can sense something", She says. "Is it her?"
"It's possible but we can't be certain."
She draws her lightsaber. "Let's check it out then", Cal says as excitement builds up inside of him.
He follows Cere like a duckling in hopes of finding what they are searching for.
"Get down", Cere suddenly says as she lays down onto the snow.
Cal does the same and they crawl for a few meters before hearing voices.

"Find them. Lord Vader wants them alive."

"Stormtroopers", Cal whispers. "All the way out here?"
"The base is not far from here. With speeders they can easily search the grounds." Cere then looks at Cal as if a light bulb has lit up above her head. "We need those speeders."
Cal agrees and they get ready to attack the troopers out of the blue.

The troopers check their instruments.
"Ugh, out of all the places I could've been transferred to it had to be this", One of then complains.
"I agree, just imagine having to patrol a beach every day."
"A dream that will never come true."
Cal and Cere use the opportunity to attack the two soldiers.
Of course they catch them by surprise and are immediately striked down. 
"I'll go north, you south", Cal says as he jumps onto one of the speeders. The hope in him is beating against his chest like a drum. "Be careful", Cere says before speeding off.

Cal takes his speeder up further north but finds nothing, only snow and the cold sun.
"Come on, Y/n. Where are you, give me a hint."

Suddenly he senses something. Lifeforms right beyond the hill in front of him.
He uses the speeder to get to the top of the hill. As he looks down he sees a herd of white animals.
Cal has never seen an animal like this before but decides to watch them, he must've sensed them for a reason.

The animals are fighting over an object. A branch?
There are no trees around.
Food?
Cal takes a closer look and his eyes widen.
They are fighting over a lightsaber. Y/n's lightsaber to be exact.

Cal runs down the hill and the animals run away after dropping the lightsaber in the snow.
The man picks it up and inspects it and its memory.

Y/n lands on the powdered snow unharmed.
She sits up and watches the Mantis fly away and hears Cal's scream. It was filled with sorrow and fear.
The girl gets up onto her wobbly feet and looks for shelter as the snow storm is still upon her.
She hasn't noticed her lightsaber that still lays in the snow next to her.
Not far from her landing spot she finds a cave and stumbles inside.
Now she waits. Hopefully he will come soon.

Cal looks up, tightens the grip around the hilt of the saber and starts to run for the cave. "Y/n", He shouts. "Y/n!"

Then he finally finds the cave from his memories. A sigh of relief leaves his lips before running inside.

There he finally finds her.

The girl he loves.
She's cuddled up in her cape and frostbites cover her cheeks. Even her lips are blue.
"Y/n!" Cal kneels down next to her. "Please, wake up."
He puts his hand on her ice cold shoulder. Nothing.

Cal sighs and carefully picks y/n up to bring her back to the Mantis.
As he reaches the ship again he meets Cere.
"You found her!"
Cal nods as he steps inside.
He lays Y/n onto the couch and immediately wraps her in a blanket.
Then he sits next to her and pulls the girl into his arms.
"You're safe now", He says and he notices a smile on Y/n's lips.
Cal also smiles.

"I love you."
