Bucket List (Dreadwing and Human Reader)

Start from the beginning

The next day, Dreadwing fetched me. It was becoming a common occurrence. I felt worse today, and was coughing more frequently than normal. Everything felt exhausting and painful, even just laying there and breathing.
"Yeah, definitely tonight or tomorrow," I murmured to myself, not realizing Dreadwing had heard me, and guessed what I meant. After an even longer and more painful and exhausting day of tests, Dreadwing finally came to collect me. I have never been so happy to see him in the last couple of days. I nodded as a greeting, and then turned to face Shockwave.
"I hope you enjoyed poking needles into me Shockwave. I doubt I'll be around for another day of that." I said with finality. I knew I probably wouldn't last through the night. I didn't hear Shockwave's reply as Dreadwing carried me back to the brig. At least, I thought he was. I noticed he was having an inner battle with himself. It was as if he couldn't make up his mind about something. I was startled when he abruptly stopped in the middle of the hallway. He sighed. Then, he took a couple of strange turns. Before I knew it, we were outside! The sun was setting. It was the most beautiful sunset I had ever seen. Dreadwing threw me into the air, making me squeak. I landed comfortably inside the cockpit of a huge jet, which took off with a boom. I yelled in shock, and then with joy as I realized what was happening. Dreadwing was giving me a ride! I was finally flying through the air! I felt so free and happy, I laughed out loud. We flew for about an hour, never leaving sight of the Nemesis. I think we were both enjoying the flight. He did barrel rolls and flips at my request. That was the best hour of my short life. We even broke the sound barrier a couple of times! All too soon, we landed back on the flight deck. I was grinning from ear to ear as Dreadwing transformed around me, allowing me to land in his hand.
"That was amazing! Thank you so much, Dreadwing!" I exclaimed, smiling up at him. I knew I would die in peace tonight.
Dreadwing's POV
He didn't know what possessed him to do it, but he decided to grant the young human femme one last wish before she died. He decided to take her on a flight. At first, he wondered if we was making a mistake, until she showed her joy during the flight. He couldn't help but feel content to see her smile, laugh, and yell as she asked him to do some tricks. He obliged her, and before long began to enjoy the flight himself. All too soon, he had to return her to the brig. He wondered if he should stay. He knew she most likely would not want to be alone. He mentally slapped himself. What was he thinking?! He decided he would think about it. He gave one last round of barrel rolls for the girl, and then transformed on the flight deck, with her in his servo.
"That was amazing! Thank you so much, Dreadwing!" She exclaimed happily, smiling up at him.
"You're welcome," he said, making sure his faceplates were not a stern and intimidating as normal. They chatted quietly on the way back to the brig. Once they got there, he reluctantly set her down. She turned to him with a smile.
"Dreadwing, what you did means so much to me. I'm really glad that my first flight was my last memory, instead of it being in that awful lab. Thank you so much for everything," she said. She started to tear up a little, and suddenly hugged him as best as she could. He patted her back with a digit.
"It was the least I could do," he said with a frown. He really was going to miss her. They had actually become pretty close in the last couple of days, as he was the only one who listened to her at all.
"Would you like for me to stay?" He decided to ask her, as he still could not make up his mind. She thought for a moment.
"Maybe, just until I fall asleep, please," she said a little shyly. He nodded, and they both settled down.
"Goodnight, Dreadwing," she whispered.
"Goodnight, hum- Y/N," he replied.
He continued to watch her as she fell asleep. He watched her breathing get slower and slower until it finally ceased altogether. Dreadwing bowed his head sadly. He hoped she was okay, whatever afterlife she went to.
3rd Person POV
In the dead of night, a large blue jet soared through the night. It plummeted towards the ground. Just before it hit the ground, the jet transformed into a large blue and yellow robot with red, pupil-less optics. In his hands was a lifeless human girl. Dreadwing looked around. He was at the top of a mountain in Turkey. He looked down at Y/N. Yes, this would be the perfect place to bury her. He set her down gently, and quickly made a hole her size in the ground. He gently wrapped her in some cloths, and carefully placed her down. Once he buried her, he managed to make a small gravestone for her. What she didn't know, was that he looked her up, and knew her age and birthdate, so he made a gravestone with this inscription.
Y/N Y/LN
December, 15, 2003-April 17, 2018
Beloved daughter, and friend to the Secret Ones. May she Rest In Peace.

Dreadwing sighed as he looked as the grave.
"Goodbye, Y/N," he said.
Alternate Ending 😆
This is after the flight.
Y/N POV
Finally! I thought he would never fall asleep! I felt really bad about this, but I didn't have a choice. You see, I lied about the cancer. I did have a very bad case of the flu, but nothing fatal. My hope was that they would let their guard down, so I can escape. Looks like it worked! I felt sorry for Dreadwing, and knew he would hate me for this. But, I didn't have a choice, if I really did want to live. If I continued to live here, it would be a matter of time before they found out I was lying, and killed me for real. Now, thanks to Dreadwing, I could leave this place behind. I happened to see escape pods on our way back from our flight. Now, I didn't lie completely. I really did want to go on a flight. And my Uncle was abusive.
I quietly went passed the metal giant, and slipped through the bars. Dreadwing wanted to be able to get out, so he never turned the electricity back on. The only thing I had to watch out for was Soundwave, but I hoped my small size would make me less noticeable. After what seemed like years, I made it. I carefully climbed into a pod. It me a minute to find the eject button, but once I finally got it, I was shot out of the ship. I crash landed, hard. Once I got my bearings, I climbed out. I smiled as I heard a Groundbridge open.
"Hello Optimus! I'm back from our little experiment!"
Yep, I already knew the Autobots, and had for quite some time.
I hope y'all like the little twist with the alternate ending! I couldn't decide to just keep what I had, or add the twist, so I decided to do both. I hope y'all enjoyed it!
