Chapter 14. Fuzzy Memories

Compared to the rest of the cave, this was different. Assortments of blues and greys covered the cave, being lit up by the blue glow of sea lanterns. It was sort of dark, but not dark enough that it was impossible to see. If we weren't on the brink of going through a life or death situation, I'd like to take time to admire the work put into this place.

" So uh... being chipped sucks, and I mean really sucks, but why is Harper important? Didn't she bail after we first met her? " [Y/N] asked, raising an eyebrow. 

" Harper is actually the one that built PAMA. So she's the only one who can help us destroy it before it totally takes over! " Jesse responded.

" Point taken. "

Jesse started to speak up again. " We're going to work with her to shut PAMA down, save her people... And that will hopefully help Petra too. " they finished.

Honestly, everything about this was iffy still. We at least knew that water was PAMA's weakness, but in regards to actually figuring out where to use that water would definitely be difficult, to say the least. There wasn't exactly much we could do right now but hope that the headset that Harper said to get would help. Worst case scenario we might have to do this without Harper, best case scenario we're able to get to her in time. 

It wasn't long before we reached the main room, to which I was rather surprised, to say the least. With two large tubes of water in the room, there was also a small library, a bed pushed into a corner, some sort of painting of Harper and a small box, and from the looks of it more redstone. Throughout the rooms, there were flower pots, some with flowers in them, and others without. However, although the room was spacious, there was something that mainly stood out the most. I wasn't exactly sure the best way to describe it, but my best guess was that there were 'substitutes' around the room, figures with detached monster heads, each with an item frame on their chest, some empty, some with rather odd items. " Woah. " I muttered.

Turning back towards the group, Jesse took out a red poppy. " Before she was abducted, Harper gave me this. She told me to give it to someone named 'Harry.'"

" And... that would find this "headset" thing? " I asked in a puzzled tone.

" That's what she said. " 

With a skeptical expression and tone, I questioned "... Jesse, are you sure that Harper is still in her right mind? If someone is alone for a really long time, their brain changes- and not for the better. " 

" Um... hello? My mind may be fuzzy, but you're saying that around someone that was isolated on an island all their life. Thought we went through this before. " [Y/N] spoke up, seeming a little offended.

" Sorry- my bad. But well... you know what I meant. " I responded, quickly correcting myself a bit. 

Jesse shook their head. " Harper isn't crazy, she's just... eccentric. Most geniuses are. " 

" True. Very true. " Ivor responded, crossing their arms and giving a prideful nod. A little concerning, but then again, it was Ivor.

" Let's just catch her a break. " Jesse finished. 

Admittedly they probably had a point. We hadn't known her for long, but she seemed to at least somewhat know what to do. It was probably some of those weird statue things that caused my confusion. " I guess we shouldn't judge her based on how weird the stuff in her place is..."

" Especially when we need her to help to save everyone who's been chipped by PAMA," Ivor added, being very blunt at clarifying that much.
