"You can cook?" Tomura stared suspiciously at the plate of food you were holding out. "Might I remind you that I'm from Sashei? I find it hilarious that you think I'm genuine royalty." you handed everyone food, not feeling in the mood to eat.
"Princess," Dabi mocked. "why aren't you eating?"
"Shut up."
"Where are we going next, Y/N?" you helped Kyoka onto the horse, who you had decided to name Lee. "I guess we're just riding until we find an inn. I have money, don't worry about that part. Actually, don't worry, period. I can handle everything." she draped her arms around your neck, quickly falling asleep.
Huh. I guess the alcohol isn't out of her system. You rode through the town, eventually deciding to move on. You kept riding, not noticing where you were going until you came to a stop in front of your old home. You pushed your emotions down, directing the horse to the inn in your village.
"Wake up." you shook Kyoka awake, helping her off of Lee. She groaned, and you bent down, hooking your arm under her knees and lifting her up, bridal style. "Come on. I'll get you a room, and you can get rid of your headache for the rest of the day."
She didn't respond, only cuddling into your chest. You chuckled a little, opening the door to the inn and hoping nobody recognized you. The last thing you wanted was for someone to tell Enji or your parents you were here.
"Hello, how can I-" the girl at the counter- your old friend Aya gasped. "Y/N?" you faked confusion. "Y/N? Like the new queen?" you made your voice drop, trying to pretend that you weren't you. She nodded. "That's funny. She's very pretty, isn't she? I'm Chiyo, and this is my friend, Kyoka. I need a room with two beds."
"Y/N...?" you shushed your friend. "I'm Chiyo here. I'll explain everything later, Kyoka." Aya led you up the stairs and into your room, chatting the whole way. "Here it is. We also have a restaurant and bar, you're welcome to eat there whenever you please. You'll pay when you checkout. Is everything clear? Any questions?"
"Nope. Thanks, Aya." you shut the door in your old friend's face, quickly laying Kyoka on the bed gently. She grunted something, reaching her hand out. "Hush. You have a headache, I'll go get you some water and food. Just go to sleep."
You rolled your eyes. You should really get out of Sashei before you see your parents. "I'm Chiyo. I'm flattered that you think I look like the queen, though. Is she from around here?" Aya's mother, Emiko, started to tell you stories of, well, you. It was awkward, because you noticed the lies and embellishments, but correcting her would only expose your identity.
Emiko handed your food, neatly packaged with the name 'Chiyo' elegantly scrawled on the top of the box. "Thanks, Emiko." you took the glass of water from her, making your way back to your room with Kyoka.
When you opened the door, Kyoka was sitting up. She looked sick, though. "Remind me to never take you out to a bar again." you joked, sitting by her. You unpacked the food, helping her eat it. Kyoka refused to talk to you, or even look at you. It was worse than when you first met. She was treating you like some stranger.
It hurt, but you couldn't focus on it. Your goal was to maybe stay the night here and be on your way in the morning. You could deal with Kyoka later. You needed a shower. You were about to get up when-
"Oh god." Kyoka had thrown up all over the place. Yeah, you weren't going to allow her to even get near alcohol from now on. You sat back down by her, rubbing her back as she puked her guts out. It smelt disgusting, and you could imagine how Kyoka felt.
"Let it all out. Yeah, that's it." she finally finished up, collapsing against you. "Do you feel better now?" she groaned in response. "Good, good. Now, you'll only feel better from now on. How about this. We get you into a bath, and I'll get someone to clean our room."
"Please." she whispered. "Of course. Come on. Let's get you cleaned up."
Kyoka ended up falling asleep in the bath, and you drained the water just enough for her to not drown. You quickly washed her hair, wanting her to wash her body herself. Yeah, she had washed you, but you didn't know if she was comfortable with that kind of stuff.
"Oh. Chiyo, is there something you need?" you scrunched your nose at the memory of Kyoka throwing up her guts in your room. "Yeah. My friend... threw up everywhere. Would you mind sending someone up to clean it? Or even just some cleaning supplies."
"I'm sorry, Y/N." you chuckled, helping your handmaiden dress. You had washed her clothes earlier, and now they were dry. "Don't worry about it. I should've restricted your drinking, it's my fault you were sick. But there's other things we should discuss."
You explained your situation to her, telling her that people were recognizing you left and right and that she had the option to either stay the night or leave ASAP. She told you she wanted to go, but at your hesitance, she insisted that she wasn't tired.
You paid Aya the money you owed her, instructing Kyoka to get Lee from the shed. "Thanks for coming, Chiyo. Come back soon!"
"Don't worry, Aya. I will."
