LENNON SORIN VESTA

I think, I adore her since then.

"Who's that?" I threw the ball upward, hitting it straight to the rough surface just so young  Meteo Lewis Hechanova would dive it with all his pride. His knees fell to the ground as he failed to send the ball back.

I smirked, he frowned. "Why do you want to know?" He asked with a tone of threat. "The thing here is, we're playing yet your eyes are all on her!" He threw the ball at my direction, sadly, I caught it. He's gone furious now.

"It's the first time you brought her here, your cousin?" He stood up as we stopped playing for awhile, just to look at that child. With her scarlet ribonette tie, pigtail? Scarlet-colored dress and crimson sandals with socks up to his ankle.

The eldest Hechanova went beside me. He leaned forward as I immediately distanced myself. "I'm not going to punch you, I'm not a sore loser." My brows furrowed, he leaned again as he whispered. "She's a Hechanova, my half sister. Dale's her name,"

Shocked, my eyes drifted at the child again. "She can't be, there were no news that your mother bear a child." Meteo laugh a little as he starts playing the ball with his hand. "It's written in the newspaper, gender is boy and that's Comet." I grabbed the ball in his hand as I sat in the rough ground.

It's quite gloomy, the sun never smiles since yesterday, yet that didn't stop the children to go here. The five-year-olds enjoys the swing, they hang out there more often. The second graders loves the monkey bar, they compete with the others there too. The elders, Meteo and I, sweat ourselves on playing volleball.

Young Meteo sat beside me too. "Dale lives with our aunt, not in our village. I don't know, Dad told me he needs to do that." I frowned, he leaned again to whisper. "Well, Dale's our half sister." My eyes widened again, I looked at him and he just nodded.

I didn't dig that up, that's their thing! I moved my shoulder so he'd stop leaning on me! I'm getting annoyed! "Don't let her play with your middle brother, he looks intense." I saw how he furiously threw the ball at her, it was fast and steady. "She won't be able to catch that, Meteo."

And as I said that, the child fell in the rough ground. I looked at Aster, he stared down at her. "Meteo, do something." I demanded, he just shook his head.

"Let her stand on her own," He told me as he grabbed the ball in my hand. With that, I feel so irritated. I stood up and I walked towards her, my eyes are glued upon the child as she remained sitting on the floor. Her ankles are hurt, her legs surely feel numb.

My shadow covered her, she might've seen that so she looked up to me. The corner of her lips rose, even her cheeks are scarlet! I always believe that God gave me those few seconds to stare at her, to let me know that there's more to world than volleyball.

I extended my arm and she just looked at it. "Stand up, child." I spoke, but to my surprise, she shook her head. I watched her stand on her own, she removed the dirt on her scarlet dress and she faced Aster again.

"Come on, Kuya! Let's play again," Instead of being mad, she just hurt my ego, the side of my lips rose. She's good.

I stepped back. She can hurt my ego as long as she wants to and I'd always let her, for as long as see her standing proud.
