SCENE 3
CUT-TO. HOURS LATER.
INT. ANDREW'S ROOM. NIGHT
ANDREW(V.O.)
March 20, 1885
"Dear Diary, today was quite eventful. I meet my first patient today, by the name of Henry."
DISSOLVE-TO.
INT. WARD CELL 13. DAY. HOURS EARLIER.
Andrew sits in a wooden chair across from Henry who is sitting on a lumpy mattress. Henry is an average sized male with a tangled mop of oily blonde hair and patches of facial hair. To some he could be described as quiet the looker if it wasn't for the brute gash across his right cheek to the bridge of the nose and his missing left canine tooth. His clothes where gray and ragged. The only thing worth of value on him was the ring he wear on his left hand. Beads of sweat formed on Andrew's face but he still had a look of determination. Henry on the other hand just scratch his face with his finger. Both men didn't say a word they just looked at each other.
ANDREW(V.O.)
"He was...fine...I guess. As to say this was my first time seeing madness. So I didn't know what to expect. It was very strange indeed. But what's stranger is he can't remember a single thing from before he entered over 3 days ago. All he knows is feeling pain on the back of his head and seeing stars. I asked him what are his problems, symptoms. As expected he told me about his night terrors. How each night he dreams of horrible things. So bad it causes his body to twitch and twist. He also told me about chest pains, breathing problems, headaches, a weird growth, ....And then we talk about hats. We spent a good about of time talking about hats."
After a while Andrew starts to relax a bit.
ANDREW(V.O.)
"He then ask me about the current political affairs and the state of the world. I did the best I could."
ANDREW.
On the bright side we never have to worry about the dark side again...because... the sun doesn't set.
HENRY.(Smiling.)
Snickering. Wow that was only slightly terrible.
ANDREW. (Relaxed.)
Well, at least I tired.
ANDREW(V.O.)
"Then I ask if he could describe these dreams in greater detail."
Henry
....Well
Andrew suddenly feels the air drop a couple of degrees as Henry goes deeper into his night terror tales. It's nearly impossible to make out what he's saying but three words stand out: woods, spiders, and death. Andrew unknowingly covers his mouth with the wooden plank he brought in to write on. Nodding along as he internally screams.
Andrew (Freaked Out.)
MMMmm....that's very interesting.
RING. RING. RING. RING.......
Andrew (Freaked Out.)
Ahhhhh.....hahahaha. Mmmmmh. L-look at the time I have to go now. But let's leave a pin in our conversation for the next appointment. Okay. Good. Great. BYE!
