it started with the stream { georgenotfound x reader }

"hey? who wants to go swimming?" he asked.

since we all felt much less full, we agreed. everyone went upstairs to quickly change into their swimsuits and then met outside in the backyard. it was a clear night and the stars were extremely visible in the night sky. i walked out into the grass with bare feet as i looked around in our yard. we had a small fire pit patio area to my left. in the middle of the lawn toward the back is where the pool was. there was a small slide at the back of the pool that i was excited to test out. i looked over to the right and saw a hot tub next to the pool. as i was admiring our backyard, i heard a splash and looked over to see tommy's head popping out of the water after performing a large cannon ball for our friends. i put my phone and towel down on a chair and walked over to the slide. when i got to the top i admired my friends in the water below, all smiling and motioning for me to come down. i laughed and flung myself down the slide, splashing into the cool water at the bottom. i made my way toward the bottom as my hair was floating up above me, shining in the pool lights. i pushed off the bottom and shot up to the surface of the pool. as soon as i opened my eyes i saw clay doing a flip into the water, splashing me in the face. george dove in behind me and grabbed my ankles, making me scream in fear.

"i hate you. literally hate you." i said when george came up from the water and tossed his hair while laughing.

"c'mon y/n," he said swimming closer to me, "we both know that's a lie." i giggled as i started swimming away as he began to chase me through the pool. i swam up behind bella and hid behind her so george would not attack us.

"bella, do. not. move." i said as i moved back and forth, george following my every move. i started mouthing words to someone behind him to make him turn around. when he did, i sunk into the water. i swam over to him and jumped on his back. he screamed at the sudden touch and almost fell down into the water. he tried throwing me off but i held on with all my strength. i put my mouth next to his ear

"this is for scaring me." i said as i threw myself into the water, pulling his body down with me. i enjoyed being under the water, the feeling of peace when you submerged into the still water. when the sounds of the world went muffled and all seemed calm. i opened my eyes, feeling little discomfort from the many years i spent in the chlorine filled water. i saw george, bubbles coming out of his nose. for a moment nothing else mattered to me. he opened his eyes and i quickly shut mine, hoping he didn't see my eyes looking over his face, admiring it all. i pushed off the floor of the pool and broke the surface of the water, taking a breath when i got there. shortly after, george popped up. he looked at me in a way he never has before and i wondered if he felt the same thing i did under the water. i smiled at him as my thoughts were interrupted by tommy squirting me in the ear with a water gun. i folded my head onto my shoulder and turned to look at him.

"you are so dead." i hoisted myself onto the side of the pool and ran after him, getting closer by the second. he took a sharp turn in hopes of getting me off his tail. it worked, but he ended up dropping his water gun in the process. i smiled devilishly as i grabbed it from the grass. i turned and ran back to the pool to fill it up, not noticing there was nobody in it anymore. when i has successfully refilled the weapon i turned to see the boys all standing in front of me, water guns aimed at my body.

"hey now," i said slightly raising my hands in the air, "we can talk about this." i began to backup.

"don't worry y/n," i heard a voice behind me and turned to see the voiced belonged to val. eleanor and bella stood with her, all three equipped with water balloons and guns.

"checkmate." i smirked as i walked back to get in formation with them. we stood facing the boys as they stared right back at us.

"rules are simple. as you can see, we all have water balloons. you get hit with the balloon, you are out. use them wisely. every person only gets one. but, if you get out and don't use your balloon, drop it. your teammate can pick it up and use it to their advantage." tommy said as we all looked to see the balloons in our hands. we all shook our heads in an effort to show we understood.
