Hailey entered the break room and sat down on one of the chairs near the table. Jay follows her in, and sits on the couch. Both of them didn't really make eye contact with each other, so the break room was just silent. After a while, Jay slowly looks up at Hailey. He saw her looking at him, he knew that she was waiting for him to talk.

Jay took a deep breath and said, "It was the night when we rescued Stella, I saw her lying on the bed and she wasn't moving that brought me back to the night you were shot." Jay stopped for a moment, trying to collect himself for him not to cry and continued, "After that night, every time I would see you, all the pain and regret would come back." Suddenly, Jay felt a tear fall on his cheek. He quickly wiped it off, trying to hide it from Hailey, but it was too late.

As Hailey saw a tear fall from Jay's eye, she stood up from her seat and went to sit beside him. She took Jay's hand, which made him turn to look at her. "That night was never your fault, Jay. It was no one's fault," Hailey says in a soft voice. Jay was now looking at Hailey with tears in his eyes, as those words of reassurance from Hailey lifted so much weight off him that he didn't even know he was carrying.

Hailey got a bit teary eyed as she looked at Jay, she didn't want to ask this question, but her curiosity got the best out of her, so she asks, "Why didn't you tell me about this?" It took a moment for Jay to process what Hailey just asked, but when he did, he immediately cleaned his face up and wiped his tears, he knew that Hailey certainly deserved an explanation for his behavior, so after collecting and composing himself again, Jay replies to Hailey, "Because you're always the one fixing my problems. The one who picks up the pieces after I messed up. I can't do that to you anymore, Hailey."

A tear falls from Jay's eye again as Hailey looks at Jay. She was somehow shocked by his reasoning, she didn't realize that at all. She cups Jay's cheek with one hand and wipes the tear off his face, then she says while looking Jay straight in the eyes, "I'm always here for you, Jay. For better or for worse. I'm here, no matter what."
