That night I tossed and turned for almost three hours straight. My head was pounding as I stared blankly into the dark space of my room wondering what to do. My phone rang and I looked up at the clock. It was twenty minutes past ten.

'Who would be calling at this time?'

I reached for my phone on the bedside table and frowned when I saw the unknown number calling. I hesitated for a moment then placed it on my ear waiting for the person on the other end to speak.

"Tik. Tok. Tik. Tok! Your time is running and little Jace says hello!" Scar's voice threatened before he hang up.

A few seconds later my phone beeped and I quickly opened the message. I felt like my blood had drained from my body. I was shaking while glancing at the picture of my nephew with his nanny and below the photo, few words attached to it. '24 hours or I mince him'.

After a while of staring at the phone, I finally dared to get up out of bed and head for the bathroom. I needed a plan to find a way out.

After showering, I put on a blue body con dress and a pair of black chunk heels then applied make-up and sprayed perfume. I looked at my reflection in the mirror and felt satisfied. My slim body fit perfectly in the dress and I couldn't be happier. My plan was set and I wasn't going to back out from the mission.

I alighted Uber and glanced at my wristwatch one last time. It was almost eleven pm. My dark brunette hair flapped in the wind as I walked towards club Z. A sudden wave of courage filled me and I confidently stepped inside taking note of the usual sweaty bodies, loud music and people making out on the booths. Memories of that night lingered.

The thrumming rhythm of a song whispered into my ears and I danced, flailing my arms up and whirling around to the beat. After the song ended, I made my way to one of the booths but quickly bolted out of there when I saw a group of about six men drinking while conversing. Something about them didn't seem right.

I found an empty spot over the bar. "Can I get a soda!" I yelled over the music at the bartender.

"Don't wanna get drank tonight?" he asked and I said no as I reached for my phone in my purse and texted Prem my location.

A second later his response came back and a few other messages from a strange number. I opened my best friend's message and smiled.
