Chapter 29- Accepted Love

Start from the beginning

"Why did you kill him? My grandfather." Mori exhaled deeply. He was prepared for that question and it showed. "There are many reasons to why," he responded blandly. "The first being I didn't want you to become a leader, because I knew the risk. Another was he found out that you were my daughter and wanted me to be killed for ruining your prophecy. Lastly, he was sick and dying and I did him a favor."

(Y/n) accepted the love Mori had for her. Like any good father, he would have and did anything for his daughter. "So he wasn't a great man deep down?" she wondered. "He was to you. Like a grandparent should be," Mori said quickly. There was that smile again. She couldn't recall any bad moments involving her grandfather. He was her favorite person when growing up, even before her parents' passing. "Thank you. I love you," (Y/n) said.

(Y/n) hugged Mori tightly. She squeezed him and closed her eyes to prevent tears from streaming down her pretty face. It wasn't obvious that she was wearing makeup until the eyeliner and mascara were to be smeared. "And I'll love you like you never felt the pain of me not," Mori whispered. He held his daughter closely and patted her back before pulling away. "Now, go get married," he told her.

Doppo was the minister for Dazai and (Y/n)'s wedding. He was dressed in his normal attire and reading glimpses of the passages in the Bible he held. "Nervous?" he asked. Osamu smirked as he turned his back to the chattering crowd ahead of him. All those eyes glancing at him started to make him uncomfortable, even though he was the type of person that enjoyed having all the attention. "You'd like that, huh?" Dazai huffed. "I would."

Seconds after the two exchanged genuine smiles, the traditional wedding music started to play by the orchestra. This large acre of beautiful green land was surrounded by cherry blossom trees that applied shade to all of the guests. The petals started to fall from the branches when the wind blew gently. This venue was one out of every woman's fantasy.

As Mori walked (Y/n) to the ceremony, she blushed at all of the surprised, yet stunned, expressions of her friends and allies. She looked and felt like a different person. Her makeup was done, her hair was styled in a bun, her dress was as luxurious as the reception. This day had a new (Y/n). After all, she wasn't going to be a (L/n) anymore.

Underneath the arch wrapped in white cloth stood Osamu. The man she'd never thought would be her lover. The man she once knew as a boy. The groom to her as a bride was none other than the person she hated for all the misunderstand reasons. Who would have thought? Certainly not her.

At the end of the aisle (Y/n)'s father hugged her once more. He even placed a hand on the round belly his grandchild was resting in. "Family," he said. "Family always," she repeated. Mori walked her down the aisle and gave smiles to the unsure faces of his group. He then presented his daughter to her groom. "You can turn around now," he mumbled after patting his back.

Mori took his seat in the front row and next to Chuuya, who also couldn't believe this day was happening. Osamu once more took in a deep breath before facing (Y/n). Her smile and flushed cheeks caused his eyes to widen. She looked so beautiful, and that stomach of hers popped and gave the feeling as if their child was a part of this all. "Wow," Dazai whispered. He took (Y/n)'s hands in his and rubbed his thumbs over her knuckles. "You truly are the perfect woman I would want to do a double suicide with it."

(Y/n) laughed quietly, and so did Osamu. Doppo then raised his hand as a signal for the orchestra to quiet down. Shortly after that, he read through the passages of the Bible and explained the meaning of love and marriage. As everyone else listened, (Y/n) and Osamu were in their own world.

When it came time to the vows, (Y/n) offered to go first. She didn't have any words she wanted to say written down, because what she wanted to say had to come from her heart right on the spot. Nothing hurt anymore, she felt complete.

"Osamu," (Y/n) breathed. "Like you were with me way back when I promise to be your light in the darkness. I will be the comforting warmth you need whenever you're feeling cold with yourself. I will be the shoulder you need to lean on when life becomes too much to bear." (Y/n) gently squeezed Dazai's hands as he returned the same grip.

Osamu blushed. This moment was too precious. He gazed his eyes along with her figure. From head to toe, her beauty captured his attention. "(Y/n)," he sighed. "I am glad you to told me that you wanted to be the one to kill me." The crowd, along with (Y/n) laughed and scoffed. Even Dazai smirked and found his own words amusing. "Your love gives me faith. That smile of yours gives me life. You make me a better person. You've always had."

Osamu lifted (Y/n)'s hands and brought them up to his lips and gave her knuckles a soft kiss. "I love you." "I love you too," she said. After the exchange of vows, Doppo continued with the ceremony and suggested the two slipping the rings on one another's fingers. They did just that. Both of the rings were silver bands, except (Y/n)'s had diamonds circling it.

"(Y/n) and Osamu, I pronounce you as Mrs. and Mr. Dazai. You may now kiss and seal the accepted love you have for one another," Doppo smiled. Without hesitation, (Y/n) cupped her husband's cheeks and pulled herself to his lips. She smooched him deeply and wrapped her arms around his neck when he hugged her at the waist. The members of the Armed Detective Agency cheered and jumped with joy from their seats. Mori and his mafia clapped and stood up and gave their respects to the couple.

A few seconds after the newlywed couple began walking down the aisle, a few gasped. (Y/n) and Dazai stared at the puddle of water soaking the carpet below. The trickling of water running down her leg caused (Y/n) to grin and even laugh out of joy. "My water broke!" she shouted. "Oh, dear! Well, come on! Let's get her to a hospital! I told you waiting this long to get married was odd!" Akiko shouted as she made her way to the bride. Osamu lifted his bride and carried her. Everyone from the Armed Detective Agency followed behind and rushed to the parking lot across the street.
