Clueless and Discovering

Jays POV
It's been an hour since no news on Isabelle. We heard she was in the ICU but no one has told us how the surgery went. Then we heard a code blue. We asked what room Isabelle was in because the code called to room 24. I just hope that's not in the ICU. Shortly after Will came into the waiting room.
"Hey. Isabelle is in the ICU, as you all know. The surgery went good. She coded but we got her back. You can go see her now" he said an lead me and Hailey to her room. When we got there she was unconscious with a bunch of monitors around her. I never liked hospitals. Even if these aren't attached to me I still don't like them. I sat down. We waited about half an hour until she woke up.
"Jay?" She asked
"Hey how are you feeling"
"Like I fainted" she chuckled "what's the diagnosis?"
"You had internal bleeding"
"Well now I know not to piss you off" she said and that made me feel a little guilty "I didn't say it to make you feel bad"
"I'm really sorry"
"It's ok" she stared at the monitors
"Do you need to turn the down or something"
"No im good, I've been in hospitals before"
"That's so?" Asked Hailey
"My mom had cancer when I was born. The number of complications I had... the list still goes on"
Soon after Bria comes through the doors
"Isabelle!" She said and ran over to Isabelle and hugged her tight
"Bria... can't.... breathe" she said
"Sorry" she said pulling away "how are you feeling"
"Good. How did you know I was here?"
"My dad is your emergency contact. Remember?"
"Right... I should change that" she said and looked over at me
"You can leave in 2 days" Hailey said
"Can you tell mr Jones I won't go to dance this week?" She said looking over to Bria "and mr Bello and mr Palatino?"
"How many classes do you go to?"
"A lot. Well the good thing is I get another week from school" she said
"Mmhh" I say and roll my eyes.
Then Will came in
"How are you?"
"Good Will"
"You know him?" Bria asked
"Yeah. Other cousin"
"You're family gets bigger and bigger. What do you have another cousin that's a firefighter?" She asked. Isabelle laughed.
"Well let me tell you something you have quite a medical history. If you experience any pain we can't give you pain meds cuz says here you're allergic. And also to 3 other drugs. You've been in and out of hospitals since you were 3 and says here you also had cancer. Is that true?" He asked and I looked over at Isabelle
"That... yeah but it was a long time ago"
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't seem like something to bring up" she said
"Well let's give you some time to rest ok?" I say
"Yeah see you later" said Hailey
We leave but leave Bria in there with Isabelle. I excuse myself to Hailey and go to the bathroom. I fall down and just let the tears roll. She coded. I could have killed her.

Hailey POV
I follow Jay cuz he looked weird. He had guilt written al over his face. I follow him to the bathroom and through the door I hear small sobs. I knock
"Jay! Let me in!" I say and he doesn't respond "Jay please!" I say and hear the door unlock. I run in locking the door behind me. I don't care that I'm in the men's room. I see him against the wall with his head buried in his hands. I go down and sit next to him and hug him and feel my shoulder getting wet cuz of the tears but don't care. I've never seen him cry before. He leans back
"Hey it's ok" I say trying to comfort him
"She coded. I could have killed her" he said with a broken voice
"But she didn't. Everything is ok. She'll be ok"
"I've only had her for 3 weeks and already got her kidnapped and at the hospital; twice"
"She knew the risks yet she's still here. She doesn't care about that. She's still got a smile on her face. Now; are you good?"
"Yeah"
"Ok let's get up and go wash your face"
"Ok. And Hailey?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks" he said and I kissed him
We get up and go to the car to go to his place
