Chapter 5.

"Mammal overboard!" Sid shouted because he had been sent flying in the air and he dropped straight into the water. Then I turned to look at Diego, who was on a small ice floe, not far from me.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Diego said anxiously and pressed his claws onto the ice floe. For my part, I was on my own ice floe.

"Sid! Swim to Diego! Now!" I shouted at Sid who was floating in the water but quickly started swimming towards Diego.

"Diego!" Sid and I shouted at him at the same time but he couldn't hear us because his gaze was in the water. He was in shock. Then I saw how the bigger water creature approached Sid.

"Sid! Swim faster!" I shouted and tried to come up with my route to them but I was in the middle of the water.

"I'm trying!" Sid shouted in panic and began to swim quickly to Diego. Luckily, he got on the floe but the water creature didn't stop.

"Diego! Sid!" I shouted and noticed how Sid was trying to get Diego to move away.

"Y/n! He's not moving!" Sid shouted back at me.

"Diego, honey, get out of the way, now! Get out of the way!" I shouted but he still didn't listen.

"Sid! Do whatever you do and I will forgive you as soon as you get Diego to move!" I yelled at him and he thought in panic for a while and then he grabbed Diego's tail and bit it. It made Diego growl in pain but luckily they got to jump to safety. I breathed a sigh of relief until I saw that the water creature was coming to me. Oh no...

"Y/n!" I heard Diego from the other side and when I looked around I saw an ice floe near me so I jumped on it. I kept jumping until the options ran out.

"Y/n, you have to jump!" Diego, Sid, Ellie, Crash and Eddie shouted at me from the other side. I took the pace and tried to jump to safety but my jump was too short so I dropped into the water. I felt cold water hitting my body and how darkness struck me. I heard something approaching me and I started swimming up. Then I felt someone lift me out of the water and throw me to safety.

"Y/n? Are you okay? Y/n, open your eyes." I heard concerned Diego and Sid say in front of me.

"I-I'm fine." I said breathlessly and coughed a little water out of my mouth.

"Thank you, Ellie." I said breathlessly and I felt how my heart could have bounced out of my body.

"Your welcome, sweetie." Ellie said with a smile to me. Then I got up and shook my body so that more water left my fur.

"Where's Manny?" I asked and it won't be long before I see him throwing the smaller water creature into an ice block with the help of his tusks.

"What in the animal kingdom was that?" Sid asked and we looked from the edge into the water.

"I don't know, but from now on, land, safe... water, not safe." Diego explained breathlessly.

"Are you okay?" Manny asked me.

"Yes, just a little scared, but, I'm okay." I said and we went for a walk towards Ellie and the possums.

"That's the bravest thing I've seen" Ellie told Manny.

"It was nothing, really. I, uh... " Manny started and then Ellie continued.

"Oh, it's not a compliment. To a possum, bravery is just dumb." Ellie said and turned to walk away from us.

"Yeah, we're spineless." Crash (?) Said and went after Ellie.

"Lily-livered." Eddie (?) Said and also went for a walk after Ellie.

"Maybe Mammoths are going extinct because they put themselves in danger too often. Maybe you should run away more." Ellie continued.

"Good point. Thanks for the advise." Manny said and I could hear a little sarcasm in his voice.

"Happy to help." Ellie said and they kept walking away from us.

"Do you believe her? 'Bravery is just dumb. Maybe you should run away more.' She's infuriating and stubborn and narrow-minded." Manny said, imitating Ellis's voice in a teasing way.

"Yeah, suuureeeeee..." I said and gave him a smirk.

"What are you referring to?" Manny asked.

"Ooh, you like her." Sid joined our conversation.

"I do not." Manny said and went for a walk after Ellie and the boys.

"Oh, don't worry. Your secret's safe with me." Sid told Manny and we kept walking. Sid and Diego walked after us.

"Oh, and so is yours." Sid said behind us and Diego answered something but I didn't listen their conversation because it didn't belong to me and because I wanted to be polite.
