Hiii sorry this has taken a while, I needed a break anyways enjoy-

It was now the day of the ball, everyone was running around getting things ready. The commanding officers were a little more tense since it was quite a big deal for them, especially Erwin. There would be wealthy leaders and even royalty attending, so it was important for the scout regiments to look as professional as possible. Although, Erwin said we could loosen up a bit once they had left and we could cause a bit of chaos.
Levi had woken up bright and early to attend meetings with Erwin and other commanding officers so I hadn't seen much of him. I knew he was probably quite stern when it came to important events like this so I thought I'd just leave him to it.
I went to my room to see Mikasa and Ymir getting stuff ready for later.
"Hey Y/n." Mikasa said.
"Sup." Ymir said unamused.
Ymir was laying her dress out and Mikasa was cleaning out her side of the wardrobe. I walked over to my bed and pulled out the large box from underneath it, placing it on my bed. I lifted the lid and gazed at my gorgeous [d/c] dress and carefully took it out.
"Y/nnn, dressing to impress I see." Ymir said teasing.
"Pfft, so are you." I said.
Her face went a little red and Mikasa chuckled.
"And how is Historia by the way?" I asked, considering I hadn't seen her since she was crowned queen and had been out of town for a while now.
"S- she's fine." Ymir said.
Mikasa and I chuckled as Ymir turned away annoyed.
I took out the dress and put it on a clothing hanger and put it inside the wardrobe for later. The ball was starting around 3pm so we still had some hours to kill.
As we were tidying the room, we made our beds and went to the mess hall together.
"Soooo, Y/n, who are you actually going with?" Mikasa asked curiously.
"Can't tell you that." I said smirking as we all entered the mess hall.
We walked over to the bench with the others and sat down. For once, the commanding officers weren't sitting and eating lunch as usual, they were probably super busy. It felt emptier then usual, especially without Levi sitting across the room, glaring at Eren for chewing too loud or Jean telling Mikasa his funny pick-up lines. Or him rolling his eyes but secretly loving it when Hanji showed him titan diagrams and crazing about her theories.
Speaking of Hanji, I saw her in her lab on the way here. She was mixing a bunch of colourful liquids together, making a few things set fire or explode, I thought I'd just let her deal with that. Hanji was basically my cool aunt at this point, which I told her and she started crying.
Even now, I felt a weird, anxious feeling.
"So Armin, you going with anyone to the ball?" Jean asked, slurping his soup.
"Why, you interested?" Armin said jokingly, winking at him.
Everyone laughed as Jean tried to convince everyone he had an "extremely hot date."
"Oh yeah, what's her name?" Eren asked.
"Mi- " He started.
"Um, don't you guys think we should start getting ready for the ball now?" Mikasa quickly snapped.
I raised an eyebrow and sipped on my tea, knowing exactly what was going on. I smirked under my breath, not knowing before at how bad of a liar Mikasa was. The others looked at each other, completely oblivious.
"Yes, it wouldn't hurt to start getting ready." I said, glancing at Mikasa with a 'I know' look.
She glanced back at me with a 'I'll kill you if you tell anyone look.'
We stood up and left the hall, the boys went their separate ways to their dorms as we went to ours. Me, Mikasa and Ymir went to our room and began getting ready for the ball, having a shower and getting into our dresses. I put on earrings as Mikasa did my makeup and Ymir did my hair.
We were almost done getting ready before we all turned our heads to a stern knock at the door. I hesitantly walked over to the door and only opened it a tiny bit, so the person wouldn't see me yet.
It was Levi. He wasn't in his outfit for the ball yet, probably from being busy helping Erwin.
"Oh. . Le- . . uh I mean Captain Levi, what are you doing here?" I asked, trying to sound professional since Ymir and Mikasa were only a few feet away.
"Cadet."
He noticed what I was getting at and put on a more stern face and straightened his posture. He reached his hand into his jacket pocket and silently handed me a small, leather box.
"Open it away from them." He said in a raspy, whispered voice.
He turned around and started walking back down the corridor. I glanced down at the small box and hid it in my pocket as I went back into the room and closed the door.
"So what did captain asshole want?" Ymir asked, painting her nails.
"Nothing, just making sure we'd be ready." I said, walking over to my bed and sipping the small box under my pillow.
We all got ourselves ready, finishing the small details like doing Ymir's hair Mikasa's makeup. We sat in the room for a bit before Ymir and Mikasa stood up and went to the door.
"We're going to the carriage's, you coming?" Mikasa asked.
"I'll catch up in a minute." I said as the two of them waved and left the room to meet up with the others.
As I waited for their footsteps to fade down the hallways, I got up and took the small box from under my pillow and placed it on my lap. It had a small note on it which I flipped over, It read:
Y/n,
I thought you could wear this to the ball,
p.s blame Hanji
-Levi
I chuckled and put the note aside, opening the small leather box. Inside was the gorgeous necklace I had seen in town a few days ago with Hanji. But how did he get it? Did he really pay that much money just for me? Last time I was in town it was a ridiculous price that I could only dream of affording. Part of me wanted to return it and give him his money back and insist that he shouldn't have, but as it glistened in front of me, I couldn't resist.
It carefully took it out of the box and held it up in the light, it reflected around the room, glowing in the small amount of sunlight from the window. I turned it around and gently placed it on my shoulders as I looked in the mirror. I did the latch at the back as the stunning necklace hung on my neck. It was breath taking.
I smiled and admired it for a short moment before removing the hair out of my face and leaving the room.
I walked down the hallways and greeted everyone at the carriages.
"Oh my god Y/n, y- you l- look . . . wow." Armin said with his jaw on the floor.
"Oh my god- that necklace! It's beautiful!" Sasha said, quickly stuffing her face before the ball.
"Yeah- you um- . . .look nice." Jean said, containing himself.
"Tch." Mikasa said.
"Nice?! She looks incredible!" Connie practically yelled.
I blushed a little as we all heard stern footsteps coming behind me. As I turned to my right I was greeted with a clean, expensive suit. I looked up to see Levi standing beside me, his hair neatly done and his tie completely straight.
As the others went off, talking and laughing, Levi's eyes watched me, staring at my dress and smirking once he saw the necklace on my neck.
"Alright cadets! Go to you assigned carriages and no messing around!" He said firmly.
I began walking to the carriage with Sasha before I felt something on my hand, I turned to Levi who had stopped me.
"You're coming with me." He said.
"But- my carriage is over there- " I said.
"You're in my carriage now." He said sternly.
He took my hand, leading me to a fancier carriage and leading me up the step inside. He went in after me and sat beside me.
"Y/n!" Hanji yelled excitedly as I noticed she was sitting in front of me. "You look as good as I thought you would!" She said, smiling.
Not going to lie, Hanji was rocking the light blue suit she was wearing, she also had matching earrings and black high heels.
"Hanji you look awesome." I said.
"Pfft, I know!" She said, squirming in her seat as Levi rolled his eyes.
"Heichou! You're looking less short, are you wearing high heels too?" She teased.
"Tch, no I just grew you idiot." He said, looking out the window.
Hanji giggled and held her head out the window like a dog, watching everything outside.
While she was distracted, I felt Levi subtly place his hand on my inner thigh, mapping out small shapes on my skin as he looked outside. I pretended I wasn't going a little red and fiddled with the material of my skirt.
Levi chuckled a little and began gently moving his hand up and down, caressing my skin with his thumb.
I leant my head on his shoulder and he placed his head on mine.
- (after the journey)
"We're here!" Hanji squealed as the carriage came to a stop and she quickly climbed outside.
Levi held my hand as he helped me out the carriage and onto the ground. He straightened his suit slightly and then took my arm in his.
"Levi, what if people see." I said quietly.
"Exactly." He said, our arms still linking as we walked with everyone into a large and elegant cathedral.
It was ginormous and was partly mage out of gold, with large, beautiful gardens surrounding it. We arrived at a large open door with butlers either side, it was stunning inside with large sparkling chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. It was packed with people wearing fancy dresses and suits, talking to each other.
On the other side of the room I could see the royals talking to Erwin and the commanding officers.
"I'll see you in a bit gorgeous." Levi said, kissing my hand and then walking towards the officers. I saw him being introduced to the royalty, he bowed and shook their hands respectfully.
As I gazed around the beautiful scene, I spotted my everyone at the bar. I walked over to them.
"Hey." They all said as I sat with them.
"Hey Y/n, try this." Sasha said as she handed me a peculiar bright drink in a cocktail glass.
"What is it?" I said, sceptically looking at it.
"Uhhh, I don't know but it tastes good." she said.
I sighed and took as small sip as the others watched in curiosity. As soon as the strange liquid touched my tongue it began burning, it tasted like acid.
"S-s Sasha! What is this stuff?!" I said putting the drink down and trying to cool down my mouth.
"I don't know, it was behind the bar." She said.
"Sasha, you know you're not allowed to do that." Armin said sympathetically.
"I know, I know, but it was just staring at me you know." She said, slouching in her seat.
I gazed around the room at the people dancing. It was quite an upbeat song so everyone was moving around the large room and laughing.
I caught sight of Levi beside Erwin, watching the scene as well.
The music suddenly stopped and a slower, ethereal song began playing. People started getting into partners and started slow dancing.
As I looked up, Levi's pale eyes met mine. Our gaze held for a moment as he admired me before he began walking over to me.
