Time Skip- Five Months

"We are finally adults. Cheers to adulthood." Zay said as he raised his can of beer. The others raised theirs and clicked the cans together, gulping down the liquid afterwards.

Everyone except Drew who was sulking in the corner.

"Drew, cheer up. It wasn't that bad." I said trying to soothe him.

"Wasn't that bad?! Are you talking about the fall or the amount of people who saw me fall?" Drew suddenly screeched. I grimaced and took a step back.

"The amount of people..? You hit the ground pretty hard. Are you sure you don't have a concussion?" I asked which only made the situation worse for Drew, that is.

Our group of friends burst out laughing and Drew further slunk into a pit of despair. "Oh my god, that was hilarious. Did you see the way he fell, though?!" Zay said through snickers.

"Guys, that's enough. He might be seriously hurt." I admit I tried to help but it was futile.

"That wasn't a regular fall either. It was one of those tuck n' roll falls. He just kept rolling down the stairs." Zay said and they burst into a fit of giggles.

Justin finally spoke up after getting his few laughs. "Guys, Destiny is right. This could have been an scarring experience for him. I mean, he fell at graduation in front of a bunch of people. That's humiliating enough for anybody." Drew spasmed at Justin's words and I was worried for a moment that he was having seizure.

Izzy got up to hug Drew, cooing loudly. He pushed her away and turned away from the group. "None of you guys are my friends anymore."

"Aww." They chorused out.

The doorbell rung and I went to get it. I opened the door and smiled. "Hey, Cam. Come in."

He gave me a hug and pulled back. "Well, look at us. All grown up and shit."

I laughed and looped my arm through his. "Well, at least, we all grown up and shit together."

We paraded into the living room and everyone stopped to look at us. "Well, look at who decided to arrive." Zay said smirking.

"Cameron, please come save me!!!" Drew yelled as he charged us.

"Are they teasing you about your big fall? That was pretty funny." Cameron teased and we watched as Drew tripped and fell again, curling in on himself.

They started laughing and I shook my head. "Come on, get up. You are a damn mess."

I helped Drew up and he clung onto me. "Destiny is only nice to me. I'm going to marry her."

I laughed, feeling my face heat up slightly. "Yeah, whatever. Just come on."

I sat on the floor and Drew laid in-between my legs, slouching slightly so he could lay his head on me. Justin stared down Cameron as he sat beside me and leaned his head on my shoulder, smirking.

"What am I, a cushion?" I remarked at my new company.

Izzy threw him a can and he caught it one handedly. "Yep."

"That's nice to know." I muttered.

I poked at Drew's cheek and grinned when he squirmed. He slapped my hand away and I decided to find new entertainment with his hair. "Braid my hair."

I looked down at him. "That's going to be, at least, $15. Twenty, if you want it to be painless."

He clicked his tongue. "I only have ten on me."

"I'll do what I can." I sighed and held my hand out. He dug in his pocket and fished out a crinkled ten dollar bill.

I took it and looked at it in the light. "Okay, anybody got a comb?"

Izzy pulled one out of her back pocket and tossed a comb to me. "Thanks."

I parted his hair and listened to them talk, adding my comments here and there. I looked over at Cameron who was watching me braid with utmost attention. "What?"

He snapped out of it and looked at me. "That's amazing."

I scrunched my nose up at him but shrugged. "It's alright. It's not my grandmother's braids but it's pretty good, I guess."

"Wow." He breathed out and I shook my head.

"Chill out, you're going to make me feel like the best braider out and one day, someone going to tell me I'm wack. Do you really want to hurt my pride like that?" I asked playfully and he chuckled.

Drew's head started leaning to the side and I poked his cheek. He twitched and I looked at Cameron. "Is he asleep?" I whispered.

Cameron looked and nodded. "Yeah."

I looked at his unfinished hair and undid one braid. "I guess I could leave it as a side mohawk."

"Yeah, it looks cool." Cameron commented.

"Help me move him?" I asked and he nodded.

When I said, 'help me move him', I meant, you move him and I will observe. Cameron grunted as he lifted Drew up and moved him over to the couch. I covered my mouth when Cameron dropped him on the couch and he rolled onto the floor with a loud thump.

"How many falls was that today?" Zay whispered to Orlan and they chuckled amongst themselves.

"Eh, he'll be fine." Cameron said as he walked away.

"You guys are legit so horrible to my child." I said and Chris stared at me.

"When did you adopt him?" He asked.

"Like, right now." I said putting my hands on my hips.

"Drew is our child. You can't have our baby." Chris hissed.

"Well, Drew likes me more. At least, I treat him nice." Chris gasped and fell back. Orlan caught him and shook his head.

"Don't talk to me or my husband ever again." Orlan narrowed his eyes and I huffed.

"I won't. After I take my son." Chris 'revived' and got up.

"Over my dead body!!!" He yelled.

"Am I really friends with all of you?" Izzy muttered.

"Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!" Zay chanted.

"Who started the mommy wars?" Justin asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Meet me in the pit." I said pointing to the area in front of me.

"Okay." Chris moved and we put up our fists.

"Stop!!! Chris is pregnant with my child, don't hurt him." Orlan shouted and Izzy threatened to smother him with the couch pillow.

Chris pretended to swing and I squeaked. "Stop playin'!!!"

Chris burst out laughing and I followed quickly after. "Alright, you get custody for Drew. Do I still get to see him, though?"

"Yeah." Chris said as he caught his breath.

We hugged and pulled away smiling. "I'm going to miss you assholes so much."

"Yeah..." They all said as we sat down.

We were quiet for a moment before Izzy piped up. "I'm going to miss the lighthearted moments and free time."

"I'm going to miss hanging out here and forgetting about time like nothing really matters." Orlan said pressing Chris closer to his side.

"I'm going to miss this small family of mine." Zay said softly.

"I'm going to miss all of you including the little princess." I smiled at Chris's mention of Merissa.

Cameron spoke up next. "I'm going to miss Destiny the most but I'll miss you guys just a little bit." We smiled at that and I elbowed him lightly.

Justin was next. "Like Zay said, I'm going to miss this family of mine. Maybe not Cameron but everyone else is cool."

They glared at each other and I chuckled nervously. They looked at me expectantly and I shook my head. "You guys have said everything. I can't top that."

"Oh, come on. Say something." Zay whined. They made a series of pleads and I looked to Justin for help. He nodded and I sighed.

"Fine, okay," They quieted down and I let out a breath. "I'm going to miss everything. Every little part. From the moment I met you guys I knew that you would be around for a long time. This year has been so eventful and my life was so boring. Thank you for spicing up my life, by the way."

"I can't really say much because I'll just be repeating but I'm going to miss you all so much. You have been placed in a very special place in my heart." It was quiet and I started to panic. "I'm sorry. That was dumb and-"

They were suddenly clapping and I was terribly confused. "That was so, so beautiful." Zay said sniffling.

I grew embarrassed and I hid my face. "That wasn't even that good."

I was suddenly being pulled into a warm chest and I froze. "No, that was perfect." Justin mumbled into my hair.

I relaxed and laid against his chest. "That's good."

-

"Alright, time for bed, you little shits." I said as I was turning off the lights.

"But, mom..." Zay whined and I hit him.

"Shut up and go to sleep. It's late." I chided.

"Okay, mom," He said. "Will you tuck me in?" I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, will you tuck me in, too?" Izzy asked pouting her lips.

"If you don't shut up, you'll be tucked in by the nice breeze outside." I smiled menacingly as I turned off the last light.

"You can't kick us out." Zay mumbled.

"Shut up." Chris muttered across the room.

I walked out of the room and was grabbed gently by Justin. "Meet me out on the porch?"

I nodded and stepped outside, closing the door softly behind me. I sat on the steps and inhaled the fresh night air as I gazed at the stars that shone brightly in the dark sky. The door opened behind me soon after and I didn't bother to look.

I felt Justin sit beside me as his warmth radiated onto my skin. "Your eyes are shining."

I looked at him and he had a soft smile on his face. "They are?"

He hummed and reached out to caress my cheek. "Yeah, you have this glow to you and it's...heavenly."

I closed my eyes and leaned into his gentle touch. The crickets chirped loudly in the grass and the animals moved through the bushes. I raised my hand to capture his, lowering them. "It's been five months."

"Yeah, it has." He let out in a breath.

"You can ask." I fluttered my eyes open to look at him.

He intertwined our fingers and leaned forward. "Destiny Vasten, will you go out with me?"

I closed our distance and planted a short sweet kiss on his lips, pulling back smiling. "Justin Delarosa, I think this makes me your girlfriend now."

He let out a breathy laugh and kissed my forehead. "You don't know how happy that makes me."

"I can only imagine." I mumbled.

He released our hands, grabbing my wrist and placing it over his chest. "Feel that?"

My eyes began to widen as I felt his heart thump wildly in his chest like an hurried melody. "You make me so damn happy, Destiny."

I nodded and hugged him, gripping his shirt tightly. We didn't need to speak as he held me just as tightly.

My heart thumped at an even rate and together, they matched each other at a never ending melody filled with love and joy.
