You woke on time the next morning and had breakfast in the great hall. Pansy pushed past you as you entered Snape's classroom for potions and sat down in your usual seat next to Draco giving you a smug look. It wasn't worth the hassle to argue with Pansy as you weren't bothered finding somewhere else to sit.

Harry Potter walked in along with Professor Horace Slughorn and gave a surprised look when seeing you. He smiled politely at you as he approached the table to sit down.

"I hope you don't mind Harry" You said, shyly.

You hadn't spoke much before but he knew you were best friends with Katie.

"I don't mind at all" Harry said with a warm smile.

Slughorn scrambled through pieces of parchment to find the lesson plan, he couldn't find any set instructions from Snape. He looked at the classes successfully brewed potions neatly organised on Snape's potion shelf and opened the potions book on a random page.

"I guess we can just try brewing one you haven't done yet" Slughorn said while holding his chin.

"Class please open your books to page 225" He instructed.

Slughorn turned to the class.

"Can anyone tell me what the Amortentia potion is?" Slughorn asked.

"Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in existence. It causes a powerful infatuation or obsession from the drinker" Hermione Granger answered.

"Yes exactly Miss Granger" Slughorn said with a smile.

He glanced around the room quickly counting roughly how many students had attended the lesson.

"Now it will be best to work with the person next to you for this task as it is quite a complicated recipe" Slughorn instructed.

This meant that you were paired with Harry, he brought over the equipment while you collected the ingredients. Harry began brewing the potion while you read the instructions to him, you had forgotten your potions book again so you picked up the copy you had used before from Snape's bookshelf. Each time you had used that specific copy and followed the handwritten annotations you never had a potion fail.

"Harry, crush the lavender do not put it in whole." You instructed.

"But the textbook says put it in whole? Why crush it?" He asked with a confused expression, reading from his potions book.

"It works better" You said re-reading the handwritten note to ensure it definitely instructed to crush. Harry held the whole lavender over the cauldron and looked at you not believing what you said was correct.

"Harry, trust me" You said holding your hand out to take the lavender from him.

Harry passed you the lavender and shrugged his shoulders. You took it from him and crushed it in a pestle and mortar. Harry then stirred as you poured in the granules of lavender you crushed but he suddenly stopped placing his hand on his scar groaning in pain.

Ron Weasley was standing at the table opposite and rushed up to Harry.

"You alright mate?" Ron asked, putting his hand on Harry's back.
