Teiko middle school. Known to be the owner of the strongest group of basketball players.

The Generation of Miracles.

But over the years they've grown

Cocky

Arrogant

Prideful

Lazy.

With each member turning against each other trying to see who can beat who,

Who can surpass who,

Who was the strongest.

This group of legends broke off.

Set off to separate schools, being the best of the best in each school they got into.

I hated it.

I hated them.

I hated what basketball did to them.

It was the last game of the year. Teiko Middle had won, but the players were not their usual selves. They had become selfish, greedy, and lazy. They were the best of the best after all, no one could beat them. They played flawlessly, without effort because they knew no matter what

That no one could beat them....

(Y/n), the only female on the team, the 7th member of the generations of the miracles, sat there on the benches furious. Her fist clenched, her nails digging deeper into her palms as she stared at her team. No they weren't a team. The word 'team' was just a label for a group that blindly followed a so called 'emperor'.

Was it out of fear?

Was it because of strength?

Why was she following him?

Why was she following his rules, his orders, his commands.

It was because his word was absolute. No one could go against him no matter how hard they tried.

"I hate this."

The group turned to see their 7th member shaking. No she wasn't crying, she was furious. Her hair covered her eyes as a drop of crimson liquid slid down her hand and onto the floor.

Drip

Drip...

It was quiet, No one spoke a word. They just stared at her wondering. What did she hate? What made her hate it? Why did she hate it? It didn't make any sense.

"(Y/n)cchi, what do you mean? We won. Isn't this what we've always wanted? We play to win." A familiar blonde haired player spoke out in the silence.

"Of course we won. No one can beat me besides me. That's why we won because no one can beat me. I am the best." A dark blue haired male stated with his arms crossed behind his head as he stared at the girl waiting for an answer. But there was no response. She stood where she was, shaking in anger. Blood still seeping between her fingernails as they just dug deeper and deeper.

She finally lifted her head, eyebrows furrowed. Her teeth clenched as if she was trying to stop herself from spilling her emotions onto the court in front of her. Her eyes glowed a flash of white as she glared at her 'teammates'. The people she grew up with in middle school. The people she shared laughs with, the people she loved, the people she shared memories with, the people she played with, the people who taught her how to love the sport that she played so dearly.

But it was also because of them that she slowly, but surely started to hate the sport. She didn't want to admit it but she hated it. She grew to hate the sport during her third year. She found herself practicing by herself in the gym, she found that she was the only one trying to keep the team from falling apart. She found herself breaking up fights between HER teammates. The people that were supposed to play together, work as a team, work together. But what were they doing fighting amongst themselves more than with the opponent.

" I hate this, I hate who you've become."

Stop, don't speak anymore...

"What happened to you guys, what happened to the team that I knew."

Stop, they won't listen anyways...

"This isn't how we're supposed to play! This isn't how teams play! This isn't how you play basketball! Why did you guys change so much!"

Please... stop.... No more.... Just leave....

"I-... I hate playing with you guys..." A tear slipped down the girls face as she harshly closed her eyes.

I don't want to be seen like this...

"I hate this team, I hate this type of play, I hate playing, I hate basketball!" She yelled into the empty court. Her voiced echoed in the empty stadium as her teammates stared at her.

"(Y/n)"

The (h/c) didn't look up as she shut her eyes tighter having the tears spill down her cheeks. Her teeth clenched hard as she recognized the voice of a red haired player. Her body shook with anger and fear, not daring to look her teammate in the eye.

The rest of the players looked at the red haired player who started to walk closer to the girl. He stopped in front of her. The girl still stood their shaking, head down as a small pool of that oh so familiar liquid formed near her feet.

"If you hate it so much, you can leave. After all,

We don't need you to win."

She opened her eyes and she was faced with the red eyes of her captain. She finally realized it.

She had lost them. She wasn't needed. They didn't even need each other. They were just together because of the label. 'Team'. They were so lost in themselves that they were confident, no they knew that they didn't need anyone in order to win.

She pushed the red haired player away from her as he stumbled back. She looked up facing her team with tear filled eyes. She still hadn't stopped her glare onto her teammates. They only looked at her, some with worry and some without a care. They really weren't coming back. They had gone too far, who were to stop them.

She then turned and ran out of the stadium leaving her teammates standing them, watching her retreating form. A certain blond tried to go after her but was stopped by Akashi's hand. But unknown to him a light blue haired male had heard everything from outside the court and watched the girl's retreating form.

The girl ran in the rain. She wanted to get away from them as much as possible. She eyes filled with tears as she felt them dripping down her face. She clenched her teeth harder. Her hair flowed in the air as she ran faster and faster. Her heart raced harder and harder as she recalled the happy moments that she shared with her teammates in middle school.

What caused them to change so much?

Why were they so different?

Her vision blurred as her tears and rain fell harder and harder. She didn't know where she was going but she just knew she wanted to go. Go somewhere else. Anywhere but there. She was so frustrated, so stressed, so angry. The past 2 years had been a heartache for her. They were no longer the same and she knew it, but she couldn't stop it. No matter how much she wanted to, she couldn't and that part broke her. It broke her heart into pieces.

"(Y/N) WATCH OUT!"

She turned to a bright light coming close to her as she suddenly stopped running.
