"Yeah, which is how we found out about the Russians, in the first place," Steve added.
"Russians? Wait, what Russians?" Jonathon wondered.
"The Russians!" Steve yelled.
"Those were Russians?" Max exclaimed.
"Some of them," Erica said.
"What are you talking about?" Lucas snapped.
"Didn't you hear our code red?" Dustin asked.
"Yeah, and I couldn't understand a word you were saying," Mike told him.
"Goddamn low battery," Dustin complained.
"How many times do I have to tell you with the low battery?" Steve yelled at him.
"Well, everything worked out, didn't it, Steve?"
"Worked out? We almost died!" Erica sassed.
"Yeah, but we didn't, did we?"
"It was pretty damn close," Steve whispered.
"Okay, Russians. As is they're working for the Russian government?" Lucas asked.
I rolled my eyes and tried to ignore the bickering. I looked to the side and noticed El looking around in circles. I walked closer to her putting my hand out.
"Hey, El? Are you alright?" I asked her.
She looked up at me before falling to the ground.
"El!" I yelled trying to help her.
"El!" Mike yelled as well running closer to us, followed by everyone else. "What's wrong?"
"My leg. My leg." she groaned.
Jonathon removed the bandages to take a look. Her leg was all swollen and looked absolutely disgusting. Suddenly something started to move inside her leg and she began to scream in agony.
"What is that" Erica wondered.
"There's something in there." Mike announced.
"Keep her talking. Keep her awake. Okay?" Jonathon yelled before running away to try and find something to help.
I told a hold of her hand, I might not be able to heal her, but I might be able to take some of the pain away. I focused super hard ignoring all the other voices. I quickly felt a sharp pain in my leg and noticed El calm down slightely.
That's new.
"What are you doing?" She asked me.
"I'm taking some of the pain away." I smiled, she knew it was hurting me but she needed the help, and also knew I wouldn't say no.
"You know, it's not actually that bad." Robin started. "There was a... The goalie on my soccer team, Beth Wildfire, this other girl slid into her leg, and the bone came out of her knee-- six inches or something, it was insane."
"Robin." Steve interupted.
"Yeah?"
"You're not helping."
"I'm sorry."
Jonathon ran back carrying multiple items. A wooden spoon, rubber gloves, and a kitchen knife.
"Okay. All right, El? This is gonna hurt like hell, okay?" he told her. "I need you to stay real still. Here, you're gonna wanna bite down on this."
He put the wooden spoon in her mouth and used the knife to cut into her leg. I immediatly turned away from El, still holding her hand, feeling the need to puke. I felt the pain in my leg get worse and worse, but I knew it was helping her.
"Holy shit, oh fuck, oh my God." I whined.
Everyone in the group shuddered and El began to scream even louder. Once Jonathon finished the cutting, he stuck his hand into her leg and began to dig around. Her screams somehow getting even louder, I even began to whimper a bit.
"Jonathon!" Nancy yelled.
"Stop talking!" he yelled back.
"No! Stop it! Stop!" she screamed at him.
"You heard her! Stop!" I also told him.
"I can do it." she said sitting up.
With the hand that I wasn't holding, she lifted it towards her leg. She wailed in agony and the glass behind us shattered. She got the piece of the monster out of her leg and threw it across the mall. It tried to crawl away, but was crushed by a boot. Hopper!
