'His greenie' | Newt x reader

Y/n POV
"Shoo! Get away" Thomas' voice went straight through me as I slept, I was very tired and I wasn't prepared to go on the run.. again.

"Come on love , we've got to go" newt starts rubbing my shoulder, trying to get me onto my feet. I stand up and nearly fall over but luckily he catches me. "Thank you" I blush and maintain my balance, starting our long walk ahead.

We'd been walking for some time and my feet begin to blister, causing me to wince at every step. After A while Thomas speaks up "Everyone stop.. be quiet" we stop in our tracks and stand still, listening to the whirring sound above us in the sky. "Fuck.. FUCK EVERYONE HIDE" Thomas shouts, we run to the nearest cover and huddle in there together as close as we can. These two plane things pass above us, and we watch them fade into the distance, "they're never gonna stop looking for us are they?" I question.. no one answers and we rise to our feet walking until nightfall.

We reach what looks like an abandoned building and Teresa begins to run inside for cover against the rain "Stop! Don't go in there" Tommy shouts and runs after her. "For fuck sake" i mutter and run after them, everyone following behind. I get inside and it's pitch black aswell as quiet , only our breathing could be heard. "What happens now" newt pipes up, "when me and aris followed janson, we heard him talking about the right arm, how they saved kids from wicked and protected them" tommy answers. "And where will we find them?" I step up towards him, furrowing my eyebrows. "They're hidden in the mountains" Thomas looks at us all, trying to read what we're thinking. Newt begins to laugh " people in the mountains? Mountain people" I nearly let out a laugh but contain myself quickly.

After a long conversation about the right arm Everyone leaves to go and explore. I find a section full of clothes, pictures and toys, I pick up a black hoodie and some grey shorts. I put them on exposing my legs, I hated them being covered up , it's easier if they're exposed and my trousers don't get caught on anything while running. While searching for more things I feel a pair of cold hands wrap themselves around my waist making me flinch at the touch. "Sorry love did I scare you?" He asks, I shake my head and begin walking off, he grabs my arm stopping me "what's wrong with you? You've been so cold towards me, have I upset you" I yank my arm out of his grip "just leave it" I mumble and begin walking off again. He steps out in front of me blocking my way, "no tell me?" He demands. I sigh "the woman made me take a pregnancy test, she was concerned I could be pregnant" i tell him, looking down at the ground.

"And.. are you?" His voice remained calm but I knew his pulse was racing as his breaths heavily increased. "No I'm not" my voice cracks, tears clouding my vision. "Why are you upset?" He lifts my chin up looking me in the eyes, "you wanted one didn't you" I nod my head and he pulls me into a hug as I sob. "We will have a child some day I promise" he runs his hands through my hair calming me down.

In that moment the lights switch on, my head turns to look at everything around me. I wipe my eyes and look back at newt "I love you.. I just want a family with you, I didn't mean to get upset" I smile at him showing that I've cheered up. "I know you do, and I do too" he smiles.

"EVERYBODY RUN!! GO GO GO" Thomas' voice  echos throughout the place catching everyone's attention. Him and Minho were running away from something.. those monsters I'd seen back at the helicopter. "Cranks" i mutter, "what?" Newt asks me, "nothing just go come on" I grab his hand and begin running in front of Tommy, trying to find the nearest exit.

Newt gets ripped from my grasp as a crank tackles him to the ground "NEWT!" I shout and run over to him as fast as I can , kicking the crank off the edge smashing the glass on the way down. He jumps to his feet "thanks" he mutters and carries on running, we reach a door and try to open it but it's chained shut.

"HURRY UP AND BREAK IT" I yell at frypan as he's throwing his body weight against the door trying to open it. After a few minutes it finally opens and we run through , winston gets stuck between the door and the cranks grab him "HELP ME!! HELP" he yells and we all grab his arms, pulling him from the cranks grip and running as far as we can...

We settle down somewhere in the desert, it had cover and we were all tired. There was no way we'd be getting up again tonight, everyone had already settled down to sleep, newts arms wrapped around my waist keeping me warm. I lay my head down on my bag and close my eyes, hoping tomorrow we'd get somewhere.
