The next day of school went pretty fast and lacrosse tryouts started in a few minutes. Jade and I are the only ones in the girls locker room because we are the only girls that have ever made the team. We threw on our gear then headed out into our indoor lacrosse field. We put our helmets on and began to take some shots with the guys as we waited for coach. There were a few new faces but other than that I knew everyone, probably because Tate, Kasey, Aiden, Kallen and Parker are all on the team. Coach finally came and called out everyone's name to make sure that we were all here.
"Keira?" Coach called.
"Here!" I replied.
"Jade?" He called.
"Here!" She said. We got several stares from the new guys but we didn't care.
"Sean?" Coach called. No answer. "Sean Davis?" He called again.
"I'm here! Sorry I'm late!" The guy with brown buzz cut hair that I saw talking to Kallen yesterday said as he ran towards the crowd of us lacrosse players. I finally got to see his face and I froze. He looked almost identical to the mysterious guy except for shorter, lighter hair, bright blue eyes, and he's definitely younger.
Tryouts flew by and to be honest, I had a hard time focusing. All I could think about was why Sean looked so much like the mysterious guy. I noticed someone in the stands and for some reason I knew exactly who it was, it was him. All I could do was stare at him. Why is he everywhere I turn? And why do I feel so drawn to him almost as if we're connected some how! I was taken out of my thoughts when Jade stepped in front of me.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine! Why?" I asked. She raised an eyebrow.
"Everyone left to go back to the locker rooms!" She stated. I looked around in shock.
"Oh sorry!" I said and I turned to head to the locker room, but Jade grabbed my arm.
"What's going on?" She asked. I ignored her and looked back up into the stands to see he vanished. She looked to where I was looking then back to me. She had a look of realisation on her face.
"You saw him again?" She asked. I sighed and nodded.
"Did you sleep last night?" She asked.
"Yeah, I fell asleep as soon as I got home and I woke up at about 10:30, talked to my brothers, said bye to my parents then went back to bed but I-I think I saw him last night. I heard howling I looked out at the tree line and he just walked away!" I explained. She didn't reply.
"That's not even the worst part!" I said.
"How is that not the worst part? You're practically being stalked!" She yelled.
"Cause I feel drawn to him, like there's some sort of connection between us!" I said. "It's freaking me out!" I added. She nodded.
"Okay! I'm staying at your place tonight!" She said. I felt like protesting, but I knew I wouldn't win that argument, so I nodded.
We sat in my room watching a movie when my door opened and in walked Kasey.
"I'm going over to Aiden's! Don't wait up!" He said. Jade sprung up.
"Tell him Hi for me, oh, oh, and tell him I love him to the moon and back!" Jade said.
"You can forget about me telling him the last part!" He chuckled. She glared at him.
"Fine!" She huffed.
"Okay have fun!" I said. He smiled.
"You too!" He said before leaving.
The rest of the night was uneventful, but when morning came it was a whole different story. Jade and I sat at the kitchen counter eating bacon when Kallen came upstairs with a semi worried look on his face.
"Where's Kasey?" He asked. I shrugged.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I mean, he's nowhere to be found!" He said in a duh tone.
"Relax Kal! He probably stayed at Aiden's last night!" I said.
"I could have sworn that I heard him this morning though!" He said.
"He probably just grabbed his stuff for school and maybe his lacrosse gear!" I reassured him.
"I hope you're right!" He said. I smiled.
"I'm always right!" I smirked.
