"(y/n)..."
"I'm sorry but do I know you..?"
Dissociative amnesia happens when a person blocks out memories that are associated with a stressful and/or traumatic event leaving them unable to remember important personal information.

"How can you say that?! We're a team! That's how teams work! We're supposed to practice together! We're supposed to play together and win together! Did the time we spent as a team mean nothing to you?! How can you be so selfish?!" You yelled as tears fell down your cheek.
"It doesn't matter none of this matters!" Aomine said, tears were welling up in his eyes. "No matter how hard I try the results are the same! I always win!"
"(y/n)-san..." Kuroko said as you stood there, your body was trembling, maybe it was the cold, maybe it was the rain, or maybe it as the anger and sadness that was welling up in your body. But you just stood there as the rain poured down your bodies.
"Did we mean nothing to you? Did our friendship mean nothing?" You asked as your tears hit the grass, you lifted up your head once more to look at him. "What does basketball mean to you?! Did the three years that we spent playing mean nothing?! How could you say that?..." you raised your hands to your eyes to wipe down the tears as you cried. "I loved playing with you, I loved seeing you smile while you passed the ball to me.. I loved every time the silly remarks we made to each other during practice..." you cheeks were starting to redden as you harshly wiped away the overflowing tears with your hands.
"(Y/n)-san please you're going to cut your cheek.." kuroko said trying to pry away your hands.
Aomine stood there as he watched Kuroko embraced you slightly, while you muffled your cries in his shoulder.
"I-... I don't even know if I love basketball anymore...." He said. Your eyes widened before you roughly pushed Kuroko away from you.
"Y-you're l-lying right?" You trembled harder, "y-you can't. N-no.. You loved basketball! You're the reason why I kept playing! Even after Haizaki left! I wanted to quit but I stayed cause of you cause I wanted to play with you, because we both loved basketball!" You yelled back.
"(Y/n)-san.." Kuroko said putting a hand on your shoulder. You roughly shoved his hand as you ran away from the two.
The rain was pouring harder and harder as you ran down the streets, tears streaming down your face. You made your way to your apartment and roughly took off your shoes and slammed the door behind you. You leaned your body against the door looking at the ceiling. The tears stopped, and your eyes were void with emotion. Then suddenly, everything that you had been holding back, the sadness, the anger, the disappointment, the shock, the fear, everything, poured out of you as your apparent not was filled with cries of emptiness that entire night.
After that night, you avoided Aomine, you didn't talk to the teammates except for Kuroko and a bit of Kise. Until the last game of the year. Kuroko was at the hospital and he had told you about his friend who was playing against you guys in the game. After seeing your team mercilessly crush the opponents, you contact Kuroko at the hospital who quickly made his way to the stadium.
That night, was the last night you were a member of the generation of miracles. That night was the day of the crash. The night that Aomine wished he could take back.
Maybe it was your brains way of defense, to protect you from the man. Who had the biggest impact of your life. This person was someone you cherished dearly, someone that you looked up to. But that night, all you felt was betrayal, like a knife stabbing into your back.
Maybe deep down you wanted to forget about him. To forget that feeling, to forget the betrayal, the fear, the sadness, the anger, everything. Maybe a part of you secretly wished you had never met him that day, that you never sat next to him, that you spoke up, that you never went to Teiko.
So maybe that's why, that's why your brain couldn't get his name or his face, because you just wanted to....
Forget.
