I wake up to the horrific sound of my alarm clock going off. Today was the day I start a new school as well as a new life. My parents and I have just moved because of my dads job. Life here wasn't awful but it wasn't great either. But then again, I've only been here 3 days.

I went to my bathroom and started getting ready. I brushed my hair and teeth and slipped on some blacked ripped jeans (just holes on the knees and some smaller ones on the thighs) and a nice F/C t-shirt. I fixed my hair for the day and ran downstairs to eat breakfast before I have to leave... 'actually let me put my shoes on first just in case the bus comes by early.' I slip my shoes on and then go to the kitchen for breakfast.

I noticed a plate with a note beside it, so I walked over and read it.
"Dear Y/N...
Your father and I had to leave early this morning. I made you F/F for your lunch and bought you some donuts for breakfast.
                                                            Love, Mom"
"Thanks mom" I smiled and said aloud.

I finished my donut just in time because I heard the bus round the corner. I quickly got up and grabbed my house key, phone, and my backpack and rushed out the door.

When I got on the bus I noticed that there weren't many children on there. I'm not going to argue though. I'm more of an introvert anyways.

After a few minutes there was a kid chasing the bus. The bus finally stopped for the kid and allowing them to get on. By this point all the seats were taken by one person sitting in each. I sat near the back of the bus and it seemed that that's where this kid was headed. He walked up to me and smiled shyly. "Hi, um.. do you mind if I sit here with you?" He asked. I looked up at him and smiled. "No, not at all." He sat down beside me and I noticed a few weird features about him. Like his hair and his... rather large head. I wonder how much hair gel he uses..

It was an awkward silence but thankfully he decided to start a conversation.
"Are you new here?" He asked. "Hm? Oh, yes. My parents and I moved here 3 days ago for my fathers job." I replied. "Oh, so you are new. Do you know the town yet?" He asked keeping the conversation going. "No, not really. I only know that we live three blocks away from a fast food restaurant." I said with a small giggle. "Nice." He smiled. Ya know, even though I just met this guy, he's kind of cute.

A few minutes go by without any words, until. "Hey I never got your name.." he said. I look at him "my name is Y/N. Y/N L/N." I smiled. "That's a pretty name. My name is Dib Membrane. Nice to meet you Y/N!" Dib said smiling and held out his hand. I shook his and smiled. "Nice to meet you to!"

We arrived at... "skool" not long after that. We kept talking about different topics as we walked to school. "So are you into the paranormal?" He asked shyly. "It's hard not to be when I see them~" I muttered.

SHIT! I wasn't supposed to tell anyone

"I-I mean, erm-" he cut me off. "Wait, you SEE them?! That's cool! Wait, is it like sleep paralysis, or?" He asked. Well how could I not tell him. If I say sleep paralysis then he'll think I can't sleep but if I just say nothing he'll ask later...
I look around outside and push him over where people wouldn't see us at first glance. " hey, what are you-" I cut Dib off. "Listen, I don't want anyone knowing this because it's kind of embarrassing, but five years ago I had died because I had a really bad allergic reaction. We live pretty close to a hospital so I wasn't gone for too long. The paramedics brought me back within 10 minutes, but since that day I can see the other side." I look off not making any eye contact. "That's cool! I mean, not it's not cool that you died but it's cool that you can see the dead!" He said starry eyed. I smiled and light blush dusted my face. "We best get off to class." I said.
