Nia’s POV

It’s been three days since the whole Dominic situation. Helping my wounds, letting me shower, it just didn’t make any sense. Why would Michael allow that? He was a sick bastard and didn’t have a nice bone in his body. It had to be Dominic’s doing but why would he do something like that?

I thought back to that day. He had stayed outside the bathroom door like he said. From the smell of the clothes, I could tell they were some of his. I swam in them and Dominic’s smell wafted around me in the steamy bathroom. It was a weird sensation because while he was a enemy, I had to admit he smelled good.

When I stepped out of the bathroom, he was leaning against the wall opposite of me. His head was looking down the hallway where I could hear the sounds of other rowdy hunters. I cleared my throat to get his attention and it must have startled him because he jumped a little at the sound. I tried to hold back a laugh as his eyes found me. He must have stared at me for a few minutes and I was worried that I had actually sent him into shock with my little stunt. I waved my hand in front of his face and he snapped out of it, quickly escorting me to my room before leaving.

I hadn’t seen Dominic since. He would usually deliver me food but for the past few days it had been a different hunter. The food they brought wasn’t appetizing either. Just a couple pieces of stale toast and a glass of water. IT was like chewing cardboard but I ate it. I wasn’t about to starve. I had made a decision to survive and that’s what I was doing.

I sat on my bed and looked down at my arms. While the shirt was swallowing me, my forearms were still exposed. Wounds scarred my once smooth skin. Their deep red color a stark contrast to my skin. I ran a finger roughly over one near my wrist, the bumpy, rough feel a sharp reminder as to how I got them. They’d be infected if Dominic hadn’t put medicine on them. I tried to pull at my wolf’s strength to heal me up more but she was tired. Not being able to shift has drained her and I can’t do anything to help. I can only try and comfort her.

The sound of boots hitting the cement floor caught my attention. Someone was coming. I shifted on my bed so I was ready if whoever was going to try anything. No one had but some had suggested it. Over my dead body. It was probably a hunter bringing up my food but I couldn’t be too careful. The footsteps stopped just outside my door and I could hear whoever messing with the lock and key on the other side of the door.
