Y/N's 1st Person POVIt's the middle of March and I'm driving towards my parents' neighborhood. It had been raining when I first woke up to the rain hitting my bedroom window. I'm thankful that it stopped raining at the current moment.
While I'm driving, I see an incoming call from my dad popping up on my car's center screen. I answer it using my car's Bluetooth.
Y/N:
"Hey, Dad!"Dad:
"Hey, Kiddo! Are you on your way?"Y/N:
"I'm actually a couple minutes away."Dad:
"Oh, excellent! I'll see you soon, Y/N!"Y/N:
"Okay, Dad!"~
I finally make it to my parents' house. And, as soon as I help myself into their home with my own key, I go straight to the kitchen and I see Jin helping my mom cooking up breakfast and my dad sitting at the kitchen island with his laptop. I'm usually here before Jin when we all meet up for breakfast and I'm the one who usually helps Mom cook, but I guess he beat me to it this morning.
My dad is the first to look up from what he's doing and spots me.
"Hi, pumpkin!" My dad gets up and walks over to give me a hug then walks over to refill his coffee cup and, as part of routine and him knowing I need my caffeine, he grabs a cup and prepares my coffee just the way I like it- with a little creamer and a teaspoon of sugar. As he's doing so, I go over to my mom and brother and hug them, checking on breakfast. After my dad finishes pouring our coffee, he asks me to join him in the back patio.
After we settle in patio chairs, we start off with the usual banter starting with the topic of work.
"How's work, kiddo?" He asks like he typically does.
"Same old! Still giving it my all! Business has been going amazing for the company. And, I've had some really great clients, lately!" I happily tell him.
"That's always good to hear. Y/N. We haven't discussed this since back when you started at your company, but whatever happened to your goal of starting your own event planning company?" He asks me.
"It's still a major goal I want to achieve, Dad. I just feel like I still have a lot to learn," I try to say, although it's more of an excuse since I feel like I'm just as capable to be on my own.
The only issue is that I'm terrified to take that giant leap. There's so much that goes into starting a business and I'm worried I won't have everything it takes to thrive.
"Y/N?" My dad calls out my name, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Yes, Dad?" I look at him with a questioning expression.
"I know you, Y/N, and I know you always doubt yourself, but I don't doubt you, never. I know you're fully capable of this goal. I just don't want you to get too comfortable at the company you're at and forget about your dreams, unless that's not what you want anymore," he tells me.
