After everybody made their proper introduction, it was time to go to sleep and get some rest.
-We have to take watches, in case something wants to attack us. You guys can rest for a while, I can take the first shift- Sabriel stated.
Everybody agreed, except for Sniper, who walked over to the girl and offered to stay with her. -Are you sure you want to stay on watch with me?- The girl asked.
-Yeh, it's not a problem for me, Oi wouldn't fall asleep now anyways- he replied.
-Alright then, let's go. Sabriel sat on the roof, the Aussie right next to her.
-Oi saw your shooting skills. Where did ya learn to use a bow like that? Oi was impressed, not gonna lie- Sniper admitted while blushing lightly, but it was dark, so it wasn't visible.-Thanks, Sniper. My father taught me how to shoot. We used to hunt a lot, so I had to learn those skills.- She blushed and smiled at him. Actually, I was wondering.. Could you maybe show me how to shoot a sniper rifle one day?
-Of course, Sheila, oi can't see why not. As soon as we find some place safer than this mansion, Oi'll teach ya how to shoot. We don't want to attract unwanted attention from the dead now, do we?- Aussie laughed.
The night went on, Sabriel started to feel drowsy. She lied her head on Sniper's shoulder and closed her eyes. He wrapped his arm around her body to keep her steady. Soon they had to take shifts and the next one to go was Medic and Scout. Sniper picked the girl bridal style and took her inside the mansion to lie down with her to sleep. Right before he drifted off to dream world, he inhaled her scent and whispered- "Goodnight, Roo".
First night with mercs was somewhat peaceful. There were a few grunts heard from the infected, but nothing attacked the group. In the morning, when Soldier and Engineer took the next watch, everybody were fast asleep.
*Few hours later*
After having a breakfast, Medic and Engie were trying to figure out how to get back to their own world. Sniper was on the roof, observing his surroundings and watching out for any potential attackers, Scout was playing with a ball, Soldier was minding his own business. Sabriel took a nap, since she barely slept for the last couple of days.
Suddenly there was a loud crash and an ear-piercing roar was heard from both sides of the mansion.Sabriel shot up and started packing stuff quickly and called out for guys. Everybody ran up to her and asked what's going on with the noise.
-EVERYONE, QUICKLY!! WE MUST GET OUT OF HERE OR WE'RE AS WELL AS DEAD!! - The girl yelled in panic and the team helped packing everything and moved to the back of the mansion, where Raya was standing.
-SABRIEL, BUT WHAT'S GOING ON?!- Scout yelled to her, and she yelled back- TANKS!! TWO OF THEM!! SHUT UP AND RUN!! WE HAVE TO ESCAPE!!With those words she jumped on Raya and explained the quick plan that she had on mind at that very moment.
-It's going to be extremely risky and I might not come back, but I'll try my best. I'll draw them away from you guys, I'll meet you in the park behind the mansion, wait for me by the gate, GO!Engie shouted- Be careful out there!! - I'll try!!- She yelled back.
Here we go. Chasing and escaping. What could possibly go wrong? Just lure them away and come back. Piece of cake- Sabriel thought as she gallopped towards two beasts. HEY YOU BIGBUTTS ON STEROIDS, I'M HERE!!!
Both Tanks roared and started chasing her and Raya. She tried her best to dodge every rock, that flew over her head. Tanks were throwing those intensively. Suddenly Sabriel got hit by a smaller piece rock, what caused her to fall off the horse. The girl was hurt, bleeding and her vision was blurry. She managed to complete one part of the plan- Tanks were away from her friends. But she had to cheat death, because she had to come back. She couldn't die. Not there. Not then. Tanks were running towards her, ready to crush every single bone in her body. Female crawled into digged hole of dirt, which reminded her of a dugout. She patiently waited for the zombies to move past her, since they didn't see her in her hiding spot.
After some time, when Sabriel made sure that the coast was clear, she called out for Raya, who was hiding in nearby bushes. Pain was pounding through her entire body, but she couldn't give up. She had to come back. The girl sat on the horse and slowly rode to the park, where the mercenaries were waiting. The pain was nearly unbearable and Sabriel had to gather her whole strength to not yelp nor scream. She knew the consequences of making a noise.
As soon as Medic saw the female in the distance, he rushed towards her with medical equipment. The group was worried sick, especially Medic and Sniper. The girl yelped in pain, as Engineer helped her get off the horse.
Sabriel weakly stuttered- We have to get out of here before they come back with a horde...-
-Ja, ve vill move as soon as I heal jou, Liebe. Jou're helping us a lot und ve von't leave jou in zhis state.- Medic insisted.
Thanks, doc, I really appreciate it..- the girl smiled at the German. He smiled back at her while blushing at the sweetness before his eyes, as he proceeded to patch her up. The rest of the group began to put all bags on Raya and watched out for infected.
