Interdimensional adventures - A TF2 X L4D2 crossover

When everybody fell asleep, there was a sudden noise. Raya whinned in panic, the mercs and Sabriel shot up from their sleeping spots and were confused of what's going on. Sleepy Scout opened a safe room door and screamed in fear and shock. 
A huge herd of zombies was coming their way. 

-Hurry, pack the stuff and let's go, before they get too close!- Engie yelled and everybody hurriedly started gathering weapons and other supplies. Sniper ran outside to get the stressed horse. Sabriel was frozen in fear. There, outside the safe room, was exactly the thing she was afraid of. Infected. Literally everywhere. 

Everybody ran outside. They've put the stuff on their backs, Aussie rode Raya to get Sabriel, so she could safely get on the horse  and they all could flee. Sniper then yelled- Put the heaviest bags on the animal, Oi can get to the safe place faster! We'll meet in the woods by that building!

Unfortunately it was too late. Zombies spotted the group and began surrounding them, so the mercs had to run to the back only. There was no other way of escape. Suddenly Sabriel screamed  at the top of her lungs, as she got pulled off the horse by a Smoker.

 -NO, NO, NOOOOOO!!!!!!- The girl cried out as the Special Infected dragged her deep into the sea of zombies.

 -SABRIEL!!!!- All the mercs  yelled in unison, shocked and afraid. The time stopped for them, when female disappeared from their sight.

-OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD!- Scout yelled- I CAN'T SEE HER!!!

Sabriel kept screaming as she tried to free herself from Smoker's grasp. Common Infected  scratched her here and there. Most of the injuries came from hitting the ground and scratching on rocks, twigs and trees. 

The Medic, as the only one, rushed after her to save her and soon enough he also disappeared in the horde. He didn't react to his teammates' screams, he couldn't leave the girl to die. At that moment, he was only thinking about her. The doctor was risking his life just for her. The only thing that mattered to him, was getting to Sabriel and making sure she's alive.

-WHERE ORE THEY?!!- Sniper yelled.  He couldn't hold his emotions, he began crying. Aussie blamed himself for what happened. Just one moment, when he let his guard down- Sabriel was gone. 

-WE HAVE TO HELP THEM!! NOW!!!- He insanely screamed.

-WE GOT NO TIME FOR THIS, SNIPER! LET'S JUST GO TO THAT SHELTER AND THEN WE'LL THINK OF WHAT TO DO!! WE WON'T FIND THEM NOW!! IF WE START FIGHTING NOW, WE ALL MIGHT DIE!!- Engie yelled back. Tears were streaming down bushman's face, he thought that because of him, his love might be dead. Torn apart by the dead. Eaten. 

No man wanted to leave Sabriel and Medic behind, but they had no choice at that time. The mercs ran to the escape route, hoping that at least the German would make it back, if the girl didn't. They didn't dare to think of the worst case scenario. 

Meanwhile Medic was slaying Common Infected with his ubersaw to ger to Sabriel, who was already being strangled by the Smoker. As soon as the doctor saw the passed out female, he charged at the zombie and cut off his tongue, catching Sabriel in his arms. Right after that the German instantly ran off to the woods on the left side of the safe room, with some Common Infected chasing them. The girl opened her eyes slowly- and whispered- D-Doctor...

-Shhhh Liebe, don't speak, soon ve'll be safe.- Medic hushed her. With that, he continiued running, until he spotted a small building. It wasn't a typical house, more of a small shed. Tho it was big enough to fit 2 people in it. 

Without hesitation, Medic ran inside, with Sabriel in his arms and after setting her down, wuickly locked the door, so no zombie gets inside. Doctor huffed from exhaustion, but he couldn't rest just yet. He had to take care of the girl, that he've started developing feelings for.

-Taube... Are jou okay? How hurt are jou?- Medic rushed to Sabriel's side and held her close, stroking her cheek and examining all the visible bruises, cuts and scratches.

-Could've been worse, if it wasn't for you, doc... Thank you for saving my life.. You're the best..- She weakly smiled and put her hand on his cheek. 

-I vas so vorried about jou...- Medic sniffed quietly.

-But you saved me, I'm fine now and we're both alive.- Sabriel said, relieved.  I'm just tired, tho.. That's all.- The German nodded to that and hugged the girl.

After a moment of silence, she quietly asked- What happened to the rest?

-Zhey left us.- Doctor frowned.- Zhe herd vas too big to fight off. I rushed after jou und I zhink, zhat zhey'll be vaiting in zhat bunker. Ve'll try to get zhere, too, vhen zhe zombies walk past us.- He stated and made a small smile to the girl. Suddenly Sabriel turned a deep shade of red, because she noticed, that since Medic hugged her, he's never let her go. She was still in his arms, close to him.  

-But... Don't they think that we're... You know... Dead?- The female looked at the doctor with the most hurtful expression that possibly existed. It shattered Medic's heart, as well as the asked question. He hated to see his Liebling in any kind of pain. 

After a moment of silence he answered with a small " I don't know". Sabriel's eyes filled with tears and she leaned onto her savior. The girl was now devastated, but she felt safe in Medic's arms. He pulled away from the hug, which lasted for several minutes and lifted her chin with his index finger, so Sabriel now looked him directly in his eyes. The German couldn't hold back anymore. He held girl's face in his gloved hands and closed the distance between them. Their lips met in a gentle, yet passionate kiss.

 Both Medic and Sabriel blushed, the doctor said: 

-Don't vorry, ve'll come back to them. Everyzhing vill be alright, Liebe. - The girl nodded at that, but stayed silent. The German then hugged her and said:- Taube, zhere's somezhing I need to tell jou. 

-Vhen I met jou, I felt attracted to jou. As ve spent more und more time togezher, und vhen jou helped me healing zhe Soldier, I felt somezhing. I missed every moment, vhen jou vere out.  I've been planning to tell jou zhat for some time now but... Vhen zhat zombie got jou, I vas terrified, zhat I might lose jou und jou vouldn't know.

-Medic... What are you trying to say?- Sabriel asked, confused.

-Liebe.- He looked in her eyes- Ich liebe dich. I love jou very much. Jou can't even imagine, how much I do.

-D-doctor... I-I don't know w-what to say...- She whispered.

-I understand, if jou don't feel zhe same...- German frowned.

-Medic...- The moment he looked at her, Sabriel threw herself at him and kissed the German sweetly. 

Doctor looked at the girl and grinned: - I take it zhat jou accept my feelings, ja?

-Yes, Schatz- She winked- I love you, too.

-Let's keep zhis a little sercet for now. - Medic smiled. Sabriel giggled- Okay, doc.

The couple went to sleep, while the zombies were still lurking outside.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

Okay, this one took me a while to write... I'm sorry for any mistakes, I'll have to reread it tomorrow, since its nearly 2 o'clock at night and instead of going to sleep, I'm sitting here and writing this chapter for you guys. Welp, Since I made it, it's time to say goodnight and go to sleep. 

This chapter is the longest one so far. I'm currently working on chapter 15. Well, for now enjoy this romantic moment.  Love you all guys and thank you for reading this book! <3
