"Get those stones as far away as possible!" Steve's voice practically yells out through the comms. I search the field for him, last time I saw him I was turning to dust. In a battle we apparently lost.
"No! We need to get them back where they came from." Bruce calls out.
Tony flies in the distance as he his voice chimes in. "No way to get them back. Thanos destroyed the quantum tunnel." A tunnel? Their conversation is lost to my ears. I let the Soldier take over and continue to fight through the masses. I can faintly hear conversation continue in the comms, but the Soldier ignores the distraction, his directive sure and strong.
I fear he will take me over completely, always a dormant figure in my life, but now prominently featured and taking full reign. I can't lose control. I have a family I need to think about. Sarah. (Y/N). Our baby. Repeat their names. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Tony's POV
Strange. I see him and fly straight to him. I need to know. I need to know. "Hey! You said one out of 14 million, we win, yeah? Tell me this is it."
"If I tell you what happens, it won't happen." He looks at me, his eyes serious and all knowing. A part of me wonders if he knew what would happen to Tink. If he knew and still let it happen.
"You better be right." We better make her loss worth it. Or nothing will ever make sense.
The fight is never ending. But I can't help but feel pride as Pep fights at my side. "Couldn't say no to my gift huh hun?"
I can hear her chuckle. "When have I ever said no to your gifts Tony?"
"May I remind you of the giant bunny?"
I swear I can hear her roll her eyes. "Right. Point taken." She blasts behind me, saving my ass from a sneak attack.
"Morgan?"
"Called Happy. After I made sure he got her."
My heart skips a beat, no other explanation is needed. "She's okay... she's safe..."
"Yeah Tones. She is. Now let's finish this so she can see her parents again." Pepper flies off continuing to fight hard in battle. But I momentarily lose my focus. Parents. My heart aches when I realize I haven't had the chance to tell Pepper yet. There's no parents. Just a parent.
Damn you Tink.

Bucky's POV
Will this battle never end? I tossed the gun long ago. No longer useful as it was empty. A knife and my vibranium arm are the only weapons I must work with. I keep pushing through, hoping I run into Steve. I need to know my girls are safe. Suddenly fire begins to rain down upon us as the enemy ships begin to shoot onto the battlefield without remorse. Just as quick, those sorcerers who opened the portals for us began to throw up shields, trying to support and block us from getting demolished.
I quickly throw myself under a shield, thankful for the support. Just as quickly as it began to rain on us, the ships changed their priorities. Shooting upward into the sky. I watch, confused as a ball of light destroys a ship easily. Angel? Is that – could that be her? My heartbeat quickens at the thought of seeing her again. I want nothing more than to hold her in my arms.
Seeing as the distraction helped, I began to enter the fray again, trying to make my way towards that light. To my Angel.
I fight my way to the light. It has to be her. It has to be my doll. I stop short when I see her fighting Thanos. But it's not my doll. No, her hair is too short, the outfit isn't right. Where are her wings? No. This isn't my Angel at all.
I turn to see Steve at my side, a few feet away, looking on as the mystery woman continues to fight Thanos. "Steve..."
He brings his attention to me and I can see relief wash through his face. "Buck." He walks over to me and envelopes me in a tight hug. As he pulls away I can't hold back any longer.
"Where is she?"
I watch as Steve's body tenses, ram rod straight and stiff. I can hear his breathing stop all together. "Is she with Sarah? Are my girls safe?"
Steve looks at me, his eyes a swirl of emotions I do not quite understand. His silence is like a glaive, cutting through the thickness in the air between us. I can hear the grunts and fighting between the mystery woman and Thanos, but my attention and care is no loner there. It is here and now, watching my best friend ignore my question. Anger flares through me and I grip his shoulders tighter than I probably should. "What the hell Steve? Answer me! Where is she?!"
His silence is all consuming, causing my anger to flare further, the Soldier now taking over my worry becoming his own. I shove him away from me, eyes cold and stare stoic. My voice comes out, but it's not my own. "Tell me where she is." It's far too cold, far too strong.
His mouth slightly opens as he is about to speak, but his attention and mine are ripped away at the sounds of a body being tossed through the air. Thanos has the stones. Oh god. No. He has the stones. He yells as the power surges through his arm, just like he did last time. Where's my wife? Where's my daughter? No this can't be happening again...
Just then Tony flies in from out of nowhere. A last-ditch attempt to stop him. But its futile. He just punches him, sending him flying off to the side like a paper doll.
I can see the joy and triumph written all over the giant's face. He's won and he knows it. Slowly he raises his hand and speaks, "I am – inevitable." The snap of his fingers makes me shudder, but nothing happens, and a clear confusion is written on the man's face. Turning his hand I see the stones are no longer on the glove. Wait... they were just there. Oh no. Tony...
I turn to see Tony kneeling on the floor, the stones taking residence in his nanotech suit with ease. Once they find their spots, pure energy flows through him. He won't survive this. His breathing is ragged as he doesn't scream or shout from the pain. His face, angry yet determined looks directly to the giant.
"And I– am– Iron Man."
Then everything is white. Blinding white.
