AFTER SAM AND TAYLOR OFFICIALLY BECAME an item a few weeks before, they'd spent every possible moment together. alternating between their houses, they'd gotten into a bit of a routine and it was safe to say that they were completely enamoured with each other.

sam liked to koala hug taylor every time she could, constantly craving physical touch. part of her was always worried that the singer would up and leave again but the other parts of her knew that her girlfriend wouldn't do that without notice.

on a chilly sunday morning in sams shared apartment, both her and taylor found themselves half naked under the covers. dianna was out the previous night, allowing the couple to have a quiet night in before they retreated to the bedroom. the actress would have to sneak taylor out like a teenager later but she wasn't too fussed about that in the moment.

taylor awoke first, and after she placed a kiss on sams forehead and grabbed jo from the bed, she made her way into the kitchen. unlike sam, the blonde could actually cook- quite well if she said so herself. seeing as it was about nine in the morning and dianna was out the night before, she deemed it safe to be out of the bedroom.

while making french toast and coffee, the singer debated on whether to reintroduce her girlfriend to her family. sam had obviously met the swifts before, but not as taylor's girlfriend; well, not to their knowledge anyway. as she grabbed some plates, she decided that she'd ask sam and go from there.

the blonde stepped into the room whilst holding a plate to see sam sat on the bed scrolling on her phone.
"mornin' tay. i thought you were in the loo so i've been sat here for the last twenty minutes." sam greeted with a wide grin. taylor frowned slightly and placed a plate on her girlfriends lap before lying next to her.

"i wanted to flex my cooking skills." she grinned, looking into the brunettes eyes. sam scoffed and shook her head in dismay.
"you're lucky i love you." she muttered whilst reaching down and kissing the blonde.
"and you're lucky i love you too." taylor murmured as she stole a slice of toast off sams plate.
"i saw that, but i'm gonna let it go because i love you too much." sam said with a hint of annoyance.

"so.. sammy." the singer began, glancing anxiously around the room.
"taylor."
"do you wanna come with me to nashville next week?" she questioned.
"like to meet the family?" sam asked, "technically remeet but we don't care about the specifics."
"uh, yeah." taylor nodded, "i know we've only been officially dating for a few weeks and i haven't even told my agent properly, but i really like you and my family are super important to me and if my mum asks to meet you one more time i'm going to explode."
"i'd love to. i would ask you to remeet my family but you'd just be going to a graveyard and that's not very exciting." sam agreed, connecting their lips once more.

"i'm happy about you agreeing. the other thing... we'll talk about later."
"humour is my coping mechanism." the gray shrugged, gulping her coffee.
"right." taylor murmured, "i'll call my mum and say we're coming."
"you told her that we're dating, right?" sam questioned.
"yeah, yeah. she was good with it."
"what about your dad and austin?"
"i told my dad as well. i assume they told austin, but i'm not too sure." the blonde muttered. sam grinned widely and pulled the woman into a slow kiss.

A WEEK LATER, the couple landed in tennessee. they'd decided to stay at taylor's parents' house rather than her nashville home so they had some time to go sightseeing before dinner.

before they went to andrea and scott's house, taylor wanted to show sam one of her favourite places in nashville, centennial park. sam parked the rental car before pulling her girlfriend onto the stony paths. because they weren't out yet, they couldn't walk hand in hand but the pair were still in close proximity. eventually, they found a secluded bench to talk in private.
