IT WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE the wedding, and sam was incredibly nervous. she'd never felt anxiety like this before, it was completely overwhelming and horrific. she was staying at eddies house for the night to avoid seeing taylor before the wedding, making good use of his carpeted corridor.

the fraser man had done quite well for himself in new york. as soon as he graduated from harvard, he packed everything up and relocated to the city. he met an old friend there and together, they opened their own law firm.

he'd just bought a new apartment near cornelia street and had asked sam to help him decorate it. they hadn't gotten round to it yet, with the brunettes busy schedule but she was intending to start after the wedding.

"sam, calm down!" eddie yelled, watching his sister pace the corridor repeatedly.
"can't. im really nervous, and excited but also nervous." sam muttered.
"just cuddle the cats then." the lawyer suggested, pointing to jo across the room.
"oh yeah." the actress grinned, "jo, come here baby."
the cat ran to her owner and began to purr slowly, noticing sams uneasiness. sam immediately calmed down after that, taking comfort in the feline.

"so, is everything ready?" eddie questioned.
"yeah, pretty much. i just gotta show up. taylor did most of the arranging anyway. she says i'd forget what to do, which is true. but i think she just wanted something to do." the gray explained, placing herself next to her brother.
"she getting bored then?"
"yeah, i think so. she's not completely ready to return yet but she wants something that'll occupy her thoughts. she started painting again so that's something i guess." the actress remarked with a smile.

"and what occupies your thoughts?" eddie asked, winking suggestively at the woman.
"that's for me to know and you to never find out." sam grinned childishly, "anyways, changing the subject, now that im about to be tied down, we should think about getting you someone."
"there's no need." the fraser shrugged, making sam stop for a moment.

"you found someone!" she remarked loudly, excitedly punching her brother, "what's their name?"
"they're called charlie, they're the friend i started the company with, we've been dating for six months and it's going really well." eddie beamed, a twinkle in his eye evident.
"well, they seem great. id love to meet them when you're ready. i promise i won't scare them away." sam beamed, "probably. and i'm definitely not annoyed about not being told for six months."
"if you didn't scare away taylor, i think you'll be okay." the fraser man joked, making sam hit him over the head with a pillow.
"ow."

ACROSS TOWN, taylor was having similar issues.
"i'm so excited i'm sweating." the blonde muttered as she paced the living room.
"taylor, if you don't sit down right now i'm going to call this sam person and tell her to come here." selena threatened, holding out her phone.
"you don't even have sams number sel." cara remarked from across the room, chuckling at the pair.
"no. but i have austin's number and he's bound to have sams." the gomez explained.
"that seems like a very longwinded solution." abigail said, looking to the group.

"if it's that bad, phone her." dianna assured, "i'm sure she's shitting herself too. i once saw her have a panic attack because we ran out of cheese."
"true. i'm gonna call her now." taylor murmured, "where'd i put my phone?"
"i think you left it in the bedroom." abigail muttered, pointing to the stairs. the blonde nodded and began her search upstairs. eventually, she found her phone in the bedside drawer along with a sticky note covered in telltale messy handwriting.
