No, alas, Hanguang-Jun was nowhere to be found, and Wei Wuxian was sulking at breakfast.

Almost all night long he was listening to loud moans and desperate cries, screams of pleasure and love confessions, tossing and turning in his bed, missing Lan Wangji.

No one came for dinner, no one to talk to, and he had a million questions that were eating him up alive. Now, he was sitting in the Tea Room, waiting for his brother and brother-in-law to come join him for the meal, but they were  –  predictably  –  quite late.

When they eventually came along, Sandu Shengshou's face was all burning  –  he had the faint memory that his brother had seen them making love, and it wasn't the most pleasant thought in his head.

- Ah, Zewu-Jun, A-Cheng! Did you sleep well?  –  he grinned mockingly.

Jiang Cheng just growled; Zewu-Jun was so preoccupied with placing his loved one to sit comfortably in his lap that he barely noticed anything around him.

- Yes, good morning, Master Wei. Yes, we are fine, thank you.  –  he mumbled happily and too distractedly.

- Uh, I bet you are!  –  he grumbled.

- Wei Wuxian!  -  Jiang Cheng hissed menacingly; he didn't appreciate the tone.

- What? What now? I miss my husband too!  –  he huffed.  –  You have forgotten too quickly how sick and moping you have been for the last two weeks, Brother!  –  he pouted.

- Wanyin? You were sick?  –  Zewu-Jun turned to face him now, letting the chopsticks fall and placing his hand on his shoulder, too worried.

- Uhhh...  -  Jiang Wanyin was blushing, he didn't want his husband to worry.  –  I am fine. I am fine now.

- He was moping like a girl,  Zewu-Jun!  –  Wei Wuxian grinned maliciously, too happy to cause some trouble.  –  He was so upset that he spent the days in bed, like  a weak woman!  –  he laughed.

- Shut up, you moron!!!  -  Jiang Cheng yelled, leaning forward, ready to jump and hit him.

- Ehh, A-Cheng! I am not lying! Or has your lazy ass forgotten already?  –  he said gleefully.

- I am right now going to show you who ---

- Wanyin... Wanyin, the baby... Our son...  -  Zewu-Jun murmured and grabbed his wrist tightly.

Sandu Shengshou was baring his teeth, growling, to his brother's annoyance, and his husband's concern.

Lan Huan mumbled:

- You should have told me, darling... I would have left you to rest last night... Wanyin...

- No, no. Zewu-Jun, no...  -  Jiang Cheng whimpered, hiding his face in his lover's robes.  –  No...

- Sweetheart...

- Uh, let's eat!  –  Wei Wuxian was watching them, and rolling his eyes. He could not recognize his brother  –  it was a different person altogether.

–  Zewu-Jun, please share the news! A-Cheng was not the only one worried about you... and about Hanguang-Jun... -  he blushed.

- Yes... Yes, Master Wei. Of course.  –  he smiled politely, placing some food in front of Jiang Cheng, making him blush even deeper now.  –  My brother is fine, and I am... I have been fine as well. We are... We were... busy.  –  he hesitated. He didn't want to get his loved one too worried or stressed.

Wei Wuxian raised an eyebrow; these words meant nothing. He observed Zewu-Jun's every movement carefully, biting his lip. He knew that if the situation was reversed  –  Lan Zhan would worry for him too, in precisely the same manner.

- Zewu-Jun, you can't protect my brother from absolutely everything. The news, to say the least, travels fast; we will know. Sooner or later. I'd rather it be sooner!  –  he tilted his head, expecting a sincere answer to this.

- You are right, naturally, Wei Qianbei.  –  Lan Xichen frowned, but stayed silent.

- It's fine. Huan, it's fine.  -  Jiang Cheng said boldly.  –  I only care that you are alright; and now you are here in my arms... This is all that matters.  –  he murmured.

- Ha! And what about me! What about  Shìjiè?  What about your nephews, you idiot?!  –  Wei Wuxian scolded.

Sandu Shengshou looked straight into his face and shook his head.

- You don't understand. I don't expect you to understand...  -  he whispered.

He wasn't sure if his brother heard him, but his husband heard him well. Lan Huan leaned in and kissed his neck gently. They both closed their eyes and stayed like that, immobile, touching, breathing each other's scent. It was a living, breathing picture, and Wei Ying just gaped.

It was quite extraordinary.

- Goddamnit, I can't wait for your honeymoon to be over!  Morons!  –  he mumbled under his nose, focusing on his breakfast, knowing that there was no real choice  –  Zewu-Jun was lost to the world at that very moment.
