Elle POV

We debated on taking the bike up to the Beach House, but we realised that we needed a few more bags than what we thought. Desperate to go for a drive, I gave Noah half an hour to ride wherever he wanted which bought me time to have a shower and pack any last minute things that we needed for our beach stay.

I walked down the stairs, as I left my bag next to Noah's at the front door, as I did a last minute walk around grabbing various things and placing them where they should belong, not where Noah thought they did belonged. Sitting down on the couch, I pulled my phone out of my pocket and texted a very quiet Lee.

E: Hey, just checking in. Did you manage to speak to Rachel?

His reply was instant.

L: Hey, yeah. I did.

E: Good? Bad? You worried for nothing?

I could see him typing, but no words appeared on the screen. I grimaced, this wasn't good. Eventually a message came through and I sighed. Damn it.

L: We spoke. I was going to call you later and fill you in. I think were just going to stay friends....she was kinda feeling the same as me. So...yeah. Guess that's it?

My fingers were flying over my phone as I heard the bike approaching, as Noah pulled up into the driveway.

E: Are you okay? Do you want me to try and talk to her?

L: No. It just is what it is. I kinda had a feeling this was coming anyway. Who knows what's gonna happen, maybe we might give it a shot in the future. I don't know.

E: I'm flying up to visit you next weekend. Clear your schedule. Bestie time is needed.

L: I'm fine Elle.

E: I know you are. But I miss my bestie and I need a Lee size hug.

L: Okay.

E: I'll call you later. I love you.

L: I love you too. Talk to you later x

Obviously the expression on my face gave me away, as Noah walked inside the house. He took one look at me, my phone in my hand and asked 'What's happened?'

I stood up, as I walked over to him, he was pulling of his leather jacket and I just shrugged. 'Lee and Rachel broke up'

He froze, turning to face me as he was trying to put everything away in the hallway closet. 'What?!'

I nodded, 'Yeah. I'll fill you in. But I think we need to call Lee in the car. Think he needs his brother and his bestie a little more than he is letting on'

Noah nodded, as he closed the closest, making a beeline for the SUV's keys on the counter, before grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the front door.

'Let's go'

'Hey', Noah said as he grabbed my hand. Clearly, I had zoned out after our phone call with Lee. 'You okay?' he asked.

'Yeah. I just...yeah', I said not really knowing what to say. We had spent a majority of the car ride on the phone to Lee and he had filled us in. He had managed to talk to Rachel and really talk to her. It seemed that they were both on the same page with how they were feeling. They both didn't think it was fair to each other to keep going on this way and they decided to split.
