Thank you for the warm welcome back.
As usual, if you think it deserves it. Leave it some love.
See you soon.
AliciaRuby90 xxElle POV
'So, how did you go?' Lee's excited voice carried through the phone, as I walked back into my apartment. I kicked my shoes off, dropped my bag and headed to my couch and collapsed onto it.
I tried to ignore the emptiness of the apartments. Noah had flown back to Boston, alone.
I sighed, 'It went well. Like really really well. They were super impressed with what they had seen at the presentation and my current folio....'
'And.....', Lee urged, I could head his hands drum rolling on whatever table surface he was near.
'And, they offered me an internship!', I squealed, kicking my feet up in the air as I heard Lee cheer.
'I knew you could do it bestie! Tell me everything!'
I had been offered the job opportunity of a lifetime to gain some experience and some serious networking, working for one of the best independent gaming development companies in LA. They were impressed with what they had seen me present and wanted to meet with me to both get to know me and suss out if I was interested in interning for them. I had met with the creative team - Anna and Dominic - who were both close friends of Professor Mason. Once our little conversation was over, they offered me two options.
One - complete a summer internship with them.
Two - intern for them at the end of summer...but have to juggle my schooling along with their workload.
'They are both amazing opportunities Elle,' Lee mused as I told him about all of my options. I really wanted to get the most out of the internship and not let either them or my schooling down. But then...summer...and Noah and Lee.
There was a part of me that knew I could juggle both school and the internship at the same time. I really would have very little life for a few months, but it wouldn't last forever. Noah was heading into his Senior Year and his schedule was going to be even more demanding than mine...so at the very least, I wanted us to have a decent summer, where we could just be us.
I had gone to see my Dad and Linda after my interview and talked it over with them. I think I needed more to vent and just get everything out in the open. Rather than tell me what to do, they asked me questions that confirmed what I wanted to do.
'I think...I'm going to try and juggle the internship and school at the same time. I want us to have a proper summer Lee. It's been so long since we have all been back in LA. Things aren't going to get easier, so we might as well enjoy the time we have together without all the stress of school....'
'I think if anyone can do it, you can. Okay? It's probs going to be really hard and I'm not sure if your going to sleep some days...but you can do it! I'm so proud of you bestie!' he said. I grinned into the phone and wished more than anything I could give him a hug right now.
There was a pause on the line before he spoke, 'Have you told Noah?'
Flicking my eyes towards the clock on my wall, I shifted my legs to stand from the couch. 'No, not yet' I started, as I headed to my bedroom.
'Don't you think you should?'
I laughed as I grabbed my carry on from my closet, 'Yeah, but I'm planning on doing it in person'
I heard Lee chuckle, 'Looks like your going to Boston after all! Does he know?'
'Nope' I said popping the 'p'.
