A Heart In The Shadows

I woke up to find Wei Ying staring at me, in another time this would have been creepy who gets up at 5.am to look at somebody. "Creep." I thought and he laughed. "You're awake." he said softly. "We have to get to that mountain before the sunrises." Although he was smiling at me, there was tension in his eyes not to mention his jaw was locked in place.

I got up and took a bath and all this time I swear he wasn't breathing, he was holding his breath. I hurried up and then we left the Inn, once outside he took a deep breath. "What does your soulmate do for you, on a day like this?" I said softly, a sad look fleeted through his eyes. "He stays with me." He frowned.

We continued walking quietly. "Does it make you sad when you talk about your soulmate?" He blinked innocently. "It doesn't make me sad, it makes me miss him very much and that's a feeling I can't deal with." He sighed.

When we arrived at the bottom of the mountain there was a boy who was wearing all black, banging his sword against the  wall the wall. A smile broke out on Wei Ying's face. " Xue Yang." The boy looked up and his face immediately lit up.

He closed between him and Wei Ying by giving him a warm tight hug, he pulled away after a while. " I see you found him again." The boy said as he looked at me. "Lan Zhan it's nice to meet you again, seeing that you have company I will leave you be, but remember you owe a drink." He was smiling at Wei Ying, his eyes were crinkling. "Sure but you have to bring Xiao Xing Chen." The boy made a pouty face. "Why?!! Whenever we see each other we argue!!!!!" Wei Ying sighed. "Both of you are stupid, just trust me." The boy nodded and he bid us farewell.

Wei Ying and I went inside the mountain, out of nowhere Wei Ying laughed then he stopped walking and he was staring at me. He closed the distanced between us and he caressed my face gently. "What goes on in your mind?" He whispered to himself but I heard him.

We went further down the mountain until we reached a cave, we entered inside. Surprisingly the cave was warm and oddly it felt like home, Wei Ying disappeared then he returned carry three blankets, snacks and water then he started the fire.

He untied his hair and he removed his outer robe, he untangled his hair nicely and then he tied it up into a tight man bun, not even a single hair was out of place and he placed his dragon pin on his hair.

All this time he was facing away from me, his boy was trembling but it was like he had completely forgotten I was  there. He removed the remaining the remaining layers of his robe, I gasped when his beautiful back that is marred with scars came into my view.

He froze but he didn't turn to look at me, I went and stood behind him. His breathing was shallow and he was slightly trembling. "Don't." His voice came out in short breath's. " I have too." I replied softly, I placed my finger on his back line and I traced it lightly. "Lan Zhan please." His voice was full of tears. "Don't stop me." I swallowed loudly.

I carried tracing his scars one by one although his posture was rigid, he didn't stop me from touching his scars.
Without thinking about it too much, I placed my lips against his biggest scar and a broken sob escaped his lips, I kissed him gently over each scar because I knew that he got these scars trying to protect me.

He was shuddering when he turned to look at me, his eyes were a startling but beautiful red and his face was wet. "Do you trust me?" I asked softly and he nodded his head, his scent engulfing me and it was causing mush in my brain but I couldn't get carried away I needed to focus on Wei Ying.

His beautiful breathtaking wings were now visible, he quickly covered his mouth. "Don't." I whispered. "Let me see." I removed his hand from his mouth and I saw his beautiful venomous teeth, my scent must be too much for him. "You're gonna have to tie me up." He said and I shook my head. " No we're going to get through this just fine." He removed his boots. "I need to take off my pants." He said shyly. "Take them off." Without looking away from my eyes he removed his pants and he was standing in front of me naked.
