Doc woke up to find a familiar person clinging to the side of his body. He yawned through a light laugh as he brushed the hair out of Bdubs' face with his knuckle. Carefully he rolled onto his side so he could easily kiss his forehead. Bdubs softly hummed, nuzzling himself against his chest.
As much as he wanted to get up then and there to have breakfast ready the moment his boyfriend opened his eyes, he knew Bdubs liked waking up with him, so he patiently waited.
After a few minutes passed of him lazily gazing at the peaceful state of Bdubs and pressing the occasional soft kiss to his head, he began to stir.
"Mornin'," Bdubs mumbled as he stretched his arms, leaning more into Doc.
He peppered his face with kisses, drawing out laughter. "Good morning," he hummed. "I'm gonna start breakfast."
"Wait, don't go yet!" Bdubs whined. He pressed his lips against every metal plate from Doc's face to down his neck. His face quickly grew warm and sat up after the last was placed on a collar panel. His boyfriend grinned, which only grew when his hair was ruffled.
"I love you so much," he sighed, rubbing his thumb on his head.
Bdubs slowly sat up and leaned against his arm. "I love you too. Happy Valentine's Day, Doc," he whispered.

Fluffy waffles decorated with chocolate chips, strawberries, maple syrup, and whipped cream were, to Bdubs, the best meal to start the holiday with. He sat at the table beside his roommate, eagerly indulging in his cooking.
The warmth of the fresh homemade waffles mixed with the melting chocolate chips contrasted beautifully with how fresh the cold strawberries tasted. They were complemented quite nicely with the sticky sweet maple syrup and light and cool whipped cream. Bdubs always felt like he was in heaven when Doc cooked or baked for him, and if the two of them didn't care so much about their current jobs he'd urge them to open up a cafe of sorts together.
Alas, even if they could, a part of Bdubs wished to be selfish and keep his boyfriend's excellent chef skills to himself.
A thumb gently wiped chocolate from just below the corner of his lips pulled him from his train of thoughts and to glance up at Doc. "How do you know I wasn't saving that for later?" He teased.
"Ooh, too bad then," the hybrid teased back, kissing the now clean spot.
Affectionately rolling his eyes, Bdubs took another bite of waffle. "You're amazing, you know that? I love how talented you are," he complimented once he swallowed. When Doc's ears began to shift in hue, he prompted a question; "Do y'know what you wanna buy at the bookstore?"
Doc hummed for a moment. "Well, since it's a date, I think it'd be fun if we chose something for each other. Y'know, forcefully yet lovingly recommending something?" He suggested, punctuating with a bite of waffle generously coated in whipped cream.
"Ooh wait, that actually sounds fun! I like that!" Bdubs eagerly agreed.

Although Doc nodded along with him, he cursed himself for presenting such an idea. Now you have to pick the perfect book for Bdubs. It's Valentine's Day, after all. Last year was our first and it was awkward because we just fought the day before. This year has to be special and I can't screw it up again. He worriedly thought as he continued to eat his breakfast.
"Oh, now you've got a little-" Bdubs' voice trailed off as he reached up to wipe the whipped cream from just above his upper lip. His heart skipped a beat and he felt the heat rise to his face. He cursed Bdubs and his ability to make him flustered so easily.
