For their first anniversary as a married couple, Bdubs and Doc had reservations at a restaurant so high-end and sought after, they had to place the reservation shortly after getting married in the first place. The room was lit by candlelight and glowing glass chandeliers. The walls were mostly windows to show off how high they were and how small pedestrians in the city looked below them.

Since it was such a special occasion and such a nice place, they decided to pull out their wedding suits again. Crisp, white three pieces with silver accents for Doc and gold accents for Bdubs. The hybrid had his hair brushed back and Bdubs had gathered half of his hair up in a small ponytail.

As they sat at their table next to one of the wall-length windows, with a view so high up they were looking down on the rooftop of some buildings around them, Doc reached across the table for his hand.

With a smile, Bdubs happily placed his hand into his palm. Doc rubbed his thumb over his fingers. "I'm so unbelievably happy we've been married for a year. I love you, Bdubs," he gushed.

"I love you too, Gorgeous! You know I've spent so long thinking about the concept of spending the rest of my life with someone, but I never knew who it would be. But I'm glad it's you. It could only be you, really," Bdubs warmly rambled, his free hand touching the base of his glass of champagne.

Doc brought his hand to his lips, kissing his knuckles. "You're so sappy. I love it," he softly teased.

When he brought their hands back down to the table, their waiter returned with the first course of seven, as per the tasting menu they had ordered. Bdubs slid his hand out of Doc's in favor of moving his cloth napkin onto his lap. The dish came with the proper silverware, which in the case of their spiced garden salad with salmon, was a fork.

Admittedly, Bdubs felt out of place being somewhere so high-end. He had been living in the same one-bedroom apartment for five years and his job was anything but classy. But he was able to discourage his sudden thoughts because he was with Doc. As of late, he had realized that it didn't matter where he was with his husband. As long as he was around Doc, he could feel at ease. He even went to another work party with him, and the anxieties didn't follow.

"What do you think?" Doc asked, gesturing to his bowl with the top of his fork.

Bdubs took a bite and nodded. "It's good!" He commented after swallowing. "A lot of strong flavors, but they don't overpower each other. And it's also refreshing at the same time."

The hybrid leaned closer. "We should try to recreate some of these recipes one day!" He suggested. Bdubs could tell he was partially joking, but he agreed regardless.

However, Bdubs thinking about his home made him consider something that had been on his mind for a while. "Hey... Doc?"

"Something wrong?" His husband immediately worried.

"N-No! I just- I was wondering; do you ever think of moving? Is our apartment big enough for us? I know when you moved in, you didn't have too much stuff but sometimes I worry the place is still too much 'me' and not enough 'you'. Do we want a bigger place? Maybe with an office room?"

Doc sat back in his chair, thinking as he chewed some salad. "Well, personally, I'm pretty content with what we have. Splitting rent on that place makes it a great price, which gives us more money to do things like this. I really don't need an office space, but if you want one, we can start looking?" He took a sip of champagne. "And, just so you know, it feels just as much my home as yours. It started feeling like that shortly after we started dating," He sheepishly added.

A big smile spread across his face. "Okay! Yeah, that makes sense. But um, I hope you know that if we stayed roommates and didn't date, I would've figured something out so you didn't have to sleep on a futon forever." For some reason, he felt the need to make that clarification.
